Zoe

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

Zoe (born 03/2026) is a young, lively and incredibly affectionate female dog who quickly wins over hearts with her sweet and sometimes slightly absent-minded nature. She is full of curiosity and joie de vivre, playful, attentive and loves people. She also gets along very well with other dogs. Zoe already walks well on a leash and has mastered some basic commands. Of course, with her few months of life, she is still at the beginning of her development and still has a lot to learn. She is not familiar with being left alone, is a bit afraid of car rides and her house training is not yet completely reliable. She can sometimes react unsure to unfamiliar loud noises. With patience, loving consistency and some practice, she will surely make further progress. Zoe's parents are unfortunately unknown. She somewhat resembles a Kangal mix, which could also fit her size. With her current height of just under 50 cm, she will probably grow a bit more and still needs to grow into her coat. A certain herding instinct is also noticeable. Her future owners should therefore deal with the possible characteristics of a herding dog mix and be happy to accompany and utilize Zoe according to her abilities. We wish for Zoe an active, loving home with experienced dog owners. A large, securely fenced garden should be available. She can live well as a single dog, but would also be happy about a confident canine companion. What is important are people who give her security, lovingly educate her and give her the time to develop into a great companion. Who will give this beautiful cuddly mouse a forever home? Zoe is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a non-binding contract after a positive preliminary check. For age-related reasons, she is not yet spayed. Wearing a safety harness is necessary when picking up the dog. Such a harness (3-strap safety harness) can be purchased for only 25 €.

Zoe (geb.

About Zoe

What life with Zoe looks like

Zoe is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zoe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zoe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zoe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zoe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Zoe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zoe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zoe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
