Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

ZOE - Active Sunshine female dog is looking for her big adventure: Affectionate dream dog full of joie de vivre. The radiant ZOE has been waiting since the end of March 2026 in the municipal animal shelter to finally get started! With her 1 year and 5 months (born around 04/2025) the pretty dog is in the best puppy age and enchants everyone who comes close to her kennel with her open and cheerful nature. Visually ZOE convinces with her warm, wheat-colored short coat, a gentle dark shade around the muzzle and her attentive floppy ears. She has an athletic-slender physique with long legs and reaches a beautiful medium size of approx. 50 cm shoulder height. Characteristically ZOE is a real winner for active people: She is extremely friendly, enjoys petting in full swing and actively seeks closeness to humans. The energetic dog brings a lot of momentum and already runs really super on the leash - best conditions for extensive walks, hiking trips and joint adventures in nature! In her new home she wants to be promoted both physically and mentally, but brings the perfect potential to become a loyal companion for life. With her fellow dogs the lively dog shows herself to be tolerant and social in the shelter. ZOE travels to her new home vaccinated, chipped, spayed and with an EU pet passport after a positive preliminary inspection. Very friendly, very energetic, lively ✓ Experienced dog people ✓ Gladly to another dog ✓ Wants to live rural - No small children in the household - No urban environment ZOE has been in a municipal animal shelter in Romania since the end of March 2026. We do not know anything about her background. Help Zoe find a home - share this with your friends ❤️

About Zoe

What life with Zoe looks like

Zoe is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zoe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zoe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zoe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zoe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zoe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zoe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zoe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
