Adopt Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem

Rottweiler · Male · Young · 3 years

Zoof (*September 2018) was dropped off at our shelter in February 2020 because his owner could no longer keep him. This imposing fellow is looking for a new home without children and other pets with people who already have "Rotti-experience" and are willing to take on a not-so-easy-going dog. Since Zoof likes to argue during dog meetings, they should also be physically capable of handling him. Initially, Zoof is suspicious of strangers, but once he gets to know them, he is very friendly and forms a very close bond. If Zoof doesn't want something, he can be quite stubborn, and during walks, he prefers a more leisurely pace. Due to his hip problems, he receives pain medication and is part of our Nori-project, so we would continue to cover his veterinary treatment costs here at the shelter. An apartment with a garden on the ground floor would be ideal for Zoof. His potential owners should be prepared to visit Zoof at the animal shelter for a longer period to get to know him better and build trust. If you would like to learn more about Zoof, please send us an email with your phone number. For more information on the husbandry of a "list dog," you can also find it here:.

About Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem

What life with Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem looks like

Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem is a large young adult rottweiler dog waiting at Tierheim Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Hip problems requiring pain medication; covered under Nori project for ongoing veterinary costs

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zoof - imposanter Rottweiler aus unserem and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
