Zorro

Male · Young · 3 years

Zorro can be met at our cat point "Ochota na Kota" at Grójeckiej 79 in Warsaw. The adoption process at Ochota lasts two days. You don't need to come right away with a transport carrier for the cat. From the start, he revealed himself as a very curious and brave kitten, who has a lot to say. He loves to engage in interactions with humans — during petting, he intensely barfs on human hands. In every possible way, he shows how important it is for him to spend time with the caregiver. Zorro is a small black male cat with golden eyes, constantly fixed on a human. Zorro is a carrier of FIV. Sounds ominous? Only by name — in practice, it means he has slightly weaker resistance and should be a single cat or live with another calm FIV cat. In a loving home, he has a long and happy life ahead. FIV is a cat virus — it doesn't transfer to other species, it's not dangerous for humans or other animals. Taking care of a cat with FIV is practically no different from taking care of a healthy cat. For our FIV cats, we look for exactly the same homes as for cats without the virus — careful, caring, and ready to provide a comfortable life for the cat. We invite you to fill out the pre-adoption questionnaire and come to the animal shelter with a completed questionnaire: Before adopting, make sure your home/apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Come to Ochota na Kota and definitely meet Zorro!

About Zorro

What life with Zorro looks like

Zorro is a small young adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zorro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zorro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zorro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zorro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zorro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zorro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zorro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
