Zosia

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

ZOSIA SEARCHES FOR A HOME FULL OF PEACE AND WARMTH! 585609931 Zosia is a small, round, red girl with a gentle gaze that immediately wins hearts. She can be a bit shy at first, but with a little patience, she shows her true, trusting face. When she feels safe, Zosia blossoms — she happily wags her tail, lies on her back, and with shining eyes asks for belly rubs. Petting is pure happiness for her. On walks, she behaves very well: she walks calmly on a leash, doesn't pull or tug, she just enjoys the moment spent with a human. She's the perfect companion for someone who values peace, closeness, and daily, shared rituals. Unfortunately, Zosia's story also has a sadder chapter. After 7 months of adoption, she returned to the shelter because she didn't get along with the puppies at home. That's why we're looking for a place for her where she'll be the only lady dog and won't have to share her space with other dogs. In such conditions, she'll be able to fully show her delicate, loving nature. Zosia deserves a home that will love her for good and forever. If you're looking for a faithful, warm friend who will repay you with love and trust — Zosia is waiting for her second chance in our shelter.

About Zosia

What life with Zosia looks like

Zosia is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zosia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zosia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zosia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zosia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zosia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zosia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zosia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
