Adopt Zosia

Mixed Breed · Unknown

What kind of person would have to be to bring dogs to such a state! Zosia was taken in by the rescue team in October 2021 along with several other dogs. All the dogs represented an image of misery and despair! All were mentally and physically exhausted. What had they done to deserve such a fate? Zosia was extremely neglected. She was just skin and bones! We don't even want to think about what she went through. The beginning at the animal shelter was very difficult. She was afraid of everything, of human touch, of any movement, and going for walks was out of the question because as soon as she saw a leash, she ran as far away as she could. Volunteers began working with her. It was hard, but it was worth it! Zosia now allows petting, and she has even come to like people. She turned out to be a wonderful dog. She just needed a little support, and she made great progress. She is energetic, curious, and it's hard not to smile when you are with her. She has also started going for walks and is increasingly enjoying them. She needs a stable home that will provide her with the right amount of love. There is still a long way to go before she fully opens up, but we see that with each day she makes great progress. We are looking for a responsible family that has experience with dogs from shelters or those who are ready to work with a behaviorist. Give Zosia a home, who has regained the joy of life! She was born in 2009. She has been vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.

Kim trzeba być, aby doprowadzić psy do takiego stanu! Zosia została odebrana interwencyjnie w październiku 2021 roku wraz z kilkoma innymi psami. Wszystkie psiaki reprezentowały sobą obraz nędzy i rozpaczy! Wszystkie były psychicznie i fizycznie wyniszczone.. Została zaszczepiona, wysterylizowana I zaczipowana. Kasia 507 237 447

About Zosia

What life with Zosia looks like

Zosia is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zosia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zosia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zosia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zosia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zosia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zosia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zosia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
