Zotmund

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Zotmund, a sweet older dog, arrived at the shelter on May 31, 2026 as an outside found animal from Kecskemét. Unfortunately, he had no chip and was not reported missing. It's astonishing that some people don't care when their pets are gone. But Zotmund wasn't much to them; he was quite unkempt and has a bilateral inguinal hernia, which were surgically corrected along with the castration. Whatever his past may be, we want to change his future for the better - he deserves to be loved and respected forever! Zotmund is a kind and nice senior dog who is initially reserved but is gaining trust and trying to adapt to his new life situation. As he probably lived as a yard or chained dog, he didn't get to know much. His new owners should be patient and empathetic in introducing him to everyday things, although he's actually curious about the world outside. For older dogs, physical activity demands are not as high, but they enjoy loving attention even more. Zotmund is still lively and doesn't feel old yet. He needs people with a big heart for senior dogs who see what a treasure he is: friendly, handsome, lovable, modest, optimistic, grateful, loyal, and with his heart in the right place. He gets along well with his fellow dogs and will be integrated into a mixed pack starting July 7, 2026. Our enchanting Zotmund longs for a safe home with understanding and loving people who he can trust and who give him the security, care, love, and safety he so desperately needs and has probably never experienced before. A soft bed, many cuddles, nice walks, dog-friendly activities, and his own people who will never leave him again - Zotmund can finally enjoy a dignified and carefree life. He deserves it! Who gets to be the lucky one? Zotmund can travel from around late July 2026 if he finds a home or foster family.

About Zotmund

What life with Zotmund looks like

Zotmund is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zotmund, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zotmund?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zotmund on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zotmund if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zotmund already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zotmund isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zotmund and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
