Zsurmo

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

Zsurmo is a young female dog who was wandering alone in Kecskemét, Hungary. It's hard to imagine where all these dogs come from and why no one misses them. Since June 5th, 2026, Zsurmo has been a resident of the animal shelter in Kecskemét. Unfortunately, nothing is known about her past. During the chip check, she was not found, and there was no one who missed her. Zsurmo looks forward to her ticket to happiness, arriving at her new home and starting a happy life. We are keeping our fingers crossed! Zsurmo is not only a sweet dog, but also a cheerful and sunny one. Friendly, loving, curious, lively, playful, and open-minded, she shows herself in the animal shelter, with strangers, and in new situations, sometimes briefly shy, which quickly disappears. She loves petting and human affection and would like to have more of it. She needs a lot of love and closeness and has a lot of catching up to do. Walking on a leash is no problem, there's still room for improvement, and her new people should enjoy teaching her the rest of the dog multiplication table in a loving way. Even as a small dog, Harmat wants to be challenged and promoted in a dog-friendly manner, as well as receive clear guidance and not be seen as a souvenir. She gets along well with her fellow dogs and is currently (July 1st, 2026) integrated into a puppy group. For our enchanting Zsurmo, we are looking for loving and dog enthusiastic people who will take her in as a real family member, give her a happy and carefree life, and show her what's inside of her. Adventurous bipeds who finally give her all the love, care, and security she needs and show her the bright side of life. A home where she finds peace and safety. Zsurmo will definitely develop into a great companion who brings a lot of joy and will go through thick and thin with her people. A wonderful dog is looking for family connection! She is still too young for castration, which must be done by the new owners when she is old enough. Zsurmo will probably grow a few more centimeters and gain some weight. On July 1st, 2026, Zsurmo is 36cm and 7.9kg. Zsurmo can travel from around early/mid-August 2026 if she has found a home or foster family.

About Zsurmo

What life with Zsurmo looks like

Zsurmo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zsurmo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zsurmo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zsurmo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zsurmo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zsurmo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zsurmo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zsurmo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
