Ο Μπέρτι είναι ένας θεαματικός και νοήμονας αγόρι που είναι έτοιμος να βρει ένα αγαπημένο και κατανοητικό σπίτι. Δημιουργεί ισχυρούς δεσμούς με την οικογένειά του και δείχνει την αγάπη του χάνοντας τον λαιμό του για φλεγματισμό και αγκαλιές - όταν είσαι το άτομό του, είσαι πραγματικά ειδικός γι' αυτόν! Ο Μπέρτι λατρεύει τις ημερήσιες περιπάτους του, ιδιαίτερα τις εξερευνητικές διαδρομές στο δάσος. Γενικά περπατά καλά στην ίντσα, αλλά μπορεί να είναι ισχυρός από καιρό σε καιρό, ιδιαίτερα για κάποιες ενδιαφέρουσες ανιχνεύσεις. Είναι άνετος φορώντας μια μάσκα κατά τις περιπάτους, γιατί μπορεί να βρει άγνωστα σκυλιά επιβαριστικά. Με αργές, ήρεμες εισαγωγές στην ίντσα μπορεί να γίνει φίλος με άλλα σκυλιά, αλλά θα το έχει πολύ πιο πολύτιμο αν ζει σε πιο ήρεμες περιοχές ή φορτωμένα σκυλιά, και θα ξεχει σε οικογένειες που μπορούν να τον πάνε σε κλειστά σκυλιά για μια καλή τρέξιμο, λατρεύει το παιχνίδι του σκυλιά και θα δείξει τη νίκη του πριν μπει για ένα άλλο παιχνίδι. Ο Μπέρτι θα χρειαστεί να είναι το μόνο ζώο στο σπίτι, όπου θα μπορεί να απορροφήσει όλη την αγάπη και την προσοχή που του αρμόζει. Είναι πολύ καταπιεστικός από τα φαγητά, κάνοντας την εκπαίδευση και το παιχνίδι του καθημερινό και απολαυστικό, αλλά μπορεί να είναι λίγο ανυπόμονος με τα σνακς του από καιρό σε καιρό. Ο Μπέρτι είναι ένας πολύ έξυπνος αγόρι, θα αγαπούσε ένα σπίτι που ενδιαφέρεται να συνεχίσει την εκπαίδευση του, την ανίχνευση οσμών, τις προεκτάσεις και άλλους τρόπους για να διατηρήσει ενεργό το μυαλό του. Ο Μπέρτι αγαπά τους ανθρώπους του και μπορεί να βρει δύσκολη την απομόνωση, οπότε χρειάζεται ιδιοκτήτες που είναι ευχαριστημένοι να κάνουν σταδιακά την αυτοπεποίθησή του με την απομόνωση. Bertie is a striking and intelligent boy who is ready to find a loving, understanding home. He forms strong bonds with his people and shows his affection by leaning in for fuss and cuddles – once you’re his person, you’re truly special to him! Bertie enjoys his daily walks and especially loves exploring woodland routes. He generally walks nicely on lead but can be strong at times, especially for some interesting sniffs. He is comfortable wearing a muzzle on walks, as he can find unknown dogs overwhelming. With slow, calm on-lead introductions he can make canine friends, however he would benefit most from quieter walking areas with fewer off-lead dogs, and would thrive with owners able to take him to enclosed dog fields for a good run around, he loves a game of tug-of-war and will parade his victory around before coming in for another play. Bertie would need to be the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves. He is very food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding, but can be a little over excited with his treats at times.Bertie is such a clever boy, he would love a home interested in continuing his training, scent work, enrichment activities and other ways to keep his active mind engaged. Bertie adores his humans and can find being left alone difficult, so he will need owners who are happy to gradually build up his confidence with alone time. He is looking for an adult or older-teen household who are comfortable with larger breeds. Bertie is a truly wonderful boy with so much love to give. With the right home, he will make an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.
