Bertie är en imponerande och intelligent pojke som är redo att hitta en kärleksfull, förstående hemma. Han skapar starka band med sina människor och visar sin kärlek genom att lena sig fram för uppmärksamhet och kramar – en gång du är hans person, så är du verkligen speciell för honom! Bertie njuter av sina dagliga promenader och älskar särskilt att utforska skogsvägar. Han går generellt bra på tång men kan ibland vara stark, särskilt vid några intressanta luktupptäckter. Han är bekväm med en munskydd på promenader eftersom han kan finnas överväldigad av okända hundar. Med långsam, lugn introduktion på tång kan han bli vän med andra hundar, dock skulle han fördela mest från lugnare promenadområden med färre hundar utan tång, och skulle blomstra hos ägare som kan ta honom till inomhus hundfält för en bra springtur, han älskar ett spel i dragkamp och kommer att visa sin seger innan han kommer in igen för mer spel. Bertie skulle behöva vara det enda husdjuret i hemmet där han kan ta emot all kärlek och uppmärksamhet han förtjänar. Han är mycket matmotiverad, vilket gör träning både roligt och belönt, men kan ibland vara lite för upphetsad med sina belöningar. Bertie är en så klug pojk, han skulle älska ett hem intresserat av att fortsätta hans träningsarbete, luktarbete, förnyelseaktiviteter och andra sätt att hålla hans aktiva hjärna engagerad. Bertie älskar sina människor och kan ha svårt att vara ensam, så han kommer att behöva ägare som är nöjda med att gradvis bygga upp hans självförtroende med ensamtid. Han söker en vuxen eller äldre ungdomshushåll som är bekväma med större raser. Bertie är verkligen en fantastisk pojke med så mycket kärlek att ge. Med rätt hem kommer han att bli en otroligt lojal och belönt kompanjon. Bertie is a striking and intelligent boy who is ready to find a loving, understanding home. He forms strong bonds with his people and shows his affection by leaning in for fuss and cuddles – once you’re his person, you’re truly special to him! Bertie enjoys his daily walks and especially loves exploring woodland routes. He generally walks nicely on lead but can be strong at times, especially for some interesting sniffs. He is comfortable wearing a muzzle on walks, as he can find unknown dogs overwhelming. With slow, calm on-lead introductions he can make canine friends, however he would benefit most from quieter walking areas with fewer off-lead dogs, and would thrive with owners able to take him to enclosed dog fields for a good run around, he loves a game of tug-of-war and will parade his victory around before coming in for another play. Bertie would need to be the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves. He is very food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding, but can be a little over excited with his treats at times.Bertie is such a clever boy, he would love a home interested in continuing his training, scent work, enrichment activities and other ways to keep his active mind engaged. Bertie adores his humans and can find being left alone difficult, so he will need owners who are happy to gradually build up his confidence with alone time. He is looking for an adult or older-teen household who are comfortable with larger breeds. Bertie is a truly wonderful boy with so much love to give. With the right home, he will make an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.
