Bertie est un garçon frappant et intelligent prêt à trouver un foyer aimant et compréhensif. Il forme des liens forts avec ses humains et exprime son affection en se penchant pour les caresses et les câlin – une fois que vous êtes sa personne, vous êtes vraiment spécial pour lui ! Bertie apprécie ses promenades quotidiennes et adore particulièrement explorer les chemins forestiers. Il marche généralement bien au collier, mais peut être très ferme parfois, surtout lorsqu’il sent quelque chose d’intéressant. Il est confortable avec un museau pendant les promenades, car il peut trouver d’autres chiens inconnus écrasants. Avec des présentations lentes et calmes, il peut faire des amis canins, mais il bénéficierait le plus de zones de promenade plus calmes avec moins de chiens non tenus en laisse, et il prospérerait avec des propriétaires capables de l’emmener dans des zones closes pour courir, il adore le jeu de la corde et fera le tour de la maison après avoir gagné avant de revenir jouer. Bertie devrait être le seul animal de compagnie à la maison, où il pourrait profiter de tout l’amour et l’attention qu’il mérite. Il est très motivé par la nourriture, ce qui rend l’entraînement à la fois amusant et récompensant, mais peut parfois être trop excité par ses friandises. Bertie est un si bon garçon, il adorerait un foyer intéressé par la poursuite de son entraînement, le travail olfactif, les activités enrichissantes et d'autres moyens de tenir son esprit actif. Bertie adore ses humains et trouve difficile d'être laissé seul, donc il aura besoin de propriétaires prêts à construire progressivement sa confiance pendant les moments de solitude. Il cherche un foyer composé d'adultes ou d'ados plus âgés, qui sont à l'aise avec les grandes races. Bertie est un véritable garçon merveilleux avec beaucoup d'amour à donner. Avec le bon foyer, il deviendra un compagnon incroyablement fidèle et récompensant. Bertie is a striking and intelligent boy who is ready to find a loving, understanding home. He forms strong bonds with his people and shows his affection by leaning in for fuss and cuddles – once you’re his person, you’re truly special to him! Bertie enjoys his daily walks and especially loves exploring woodland routes. He generally walks nicely on lead but can be strong at times, especially for some interesting sniffs. He is comfortable wearing a muzzle on walks, as he can find unknown dogs overwhelming. With slow, calm on-lead introductions he can make canine friends, however he would benefit most from quieter walking areas with fewer off-lead dogs, and would thrive with owners able to take him to enclosed dog fields for a good run around, he loves a game of tug-of-war and will parade his victory around before coming in for another play. Bertie would need to be the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves. He is very food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding, but can be a little over excited with his treats at times.Bertie is such a clever boy, he would love a home interested in continuing his training, scent work, enrichment activities and other ways to keep his active mind engaged. Bertie adores his humans and can find being left alone difficult, so he will need owners who are happy to gradually build up his confidence with alone time. He is looking for an adult or older-teen household who are comfortable with larger breeds. Bertie is a truly wonderful boy with so much love to give. With the right home, he will make an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.
