Caramelo es un Podenco que proviene de un hogar, pero fue dado por su humanos, aparentemente debido a dificultades para encontrar un lugar para vivir con un perro. Llegó al refugio en buen estado, bien alimentado, con buen pelaje, así que al menos estamos felices por eso, ya que la mayoría de los Podencos llegan a nosotros en malas condiciones. El pobre chico estaba muy estresado y tenso cuando llegó por primera vez, y creemos que probablemente era el único perro del hogar, los Podencos normalmente son perros sociales y viven mejor en grupos. Caramelo estaba tan feliz de conocer a otros Podencos, y ahora vive junto con otro joven macho Podenco y una hembra también. Corren y juegan muy bien juntos, y por ese motivo, nos encantaría encontrar un hogar para Caramelo, donde ya tenga 1 o más amigos perros esperándolo para jugar y correr juntos. También podría ser un único perro en un hogar, estrictamente en caso de que se le proporcione contacto regular con otros perros, para satisfacer sus necesidades sociales y emocionales de compañía canina. Aún no sabemos cómo se sentiría Caramelo en un entorno más ocupado, esto se probará con el tiempo, en este momento busca un hogar cerca de la naturaleza, y con seguridad con un espacio exterior seguro. Caramelo es un tipo realmente genial, solo necesita un momento para sentirse cómodo con dónde está y quién lo rodea, y luego se vuelve juguetón y cariñoso. También camina muy bien en la correa. Una cosa especial de Caramelo es su cola enrollada en forma de cerdo, normalmente los Podencos no tienen cola enrollada, así que definitivamente se destaca entre sus amigos. Su altura en el hombro es de 51 cm. Como ya proviene de un hogar, asumimos que es limpio en el hogar y probablemente se adaptará rápidamente a un nuevo hogar también.

Caramelo is a Podenco coming from a home, but he was given away by his humans, reportedly due to difficulties finding a place to live with a dog. He arrived to the shelter in good shape, well-eaten, good fur - so at least we are happy for that, as most Podencos arrive to us in poor conditions. The poor boy was so stressed and tense when he first arrived, and we think he most likely was an only dog of the home - Podencos usually are social dogs and mostly live best in groups. Caramelo was so happy to meet other Podencos, and he now lives together with another young Podenco boy and a female as well. They run and play so nicely together, and especially for that reason, we would love to find a home for Caramelo, where he would have 1 or more dog friends already waiting for him, to play and run together. He could potentially also be an only dog of a home, strictly in case very regular contact with other dogs is provided to him, to satisfy his social and emotional needs for canine companionship. We do not yet know how Caramelo would feel in a busier environment, this will be tested out over time, at the moment he is looking for a home close to the nature, and quite surely with a secure outdoors space. Caramelo is a really cool guy - he just needs a moment to feel comfortable with where he is and who is around him, and then he becomes playful and affectionate. He also walks very well on the leash. One special things about Caramelo is his curled up pig tail! Usually Podencos do not have a curled tail, so he definitely stands out among his friends! His shoulder height is 51cm. As he is already coming from a home, then we assume he is house-clean and will most likely quickly settle in to a new home as well.
