Caramelo est un Podenco provenant d'un foyer, mais il a été donné par ses maîtres, apparemment en raison de difficultés à trouver un endroit où habiter avec un chien. Il est arrivé au refuge dans de bonnes conditions, bien nourri, avec un pelage agréable - donc au moins nous sommes contents de cela, car la plupart des Podencos arrivent chez nous dans de mauvaises conditions. Le pauvre garçon était si stressé et tendu lorsqu'il est arrivé, et nous pensons qu'il était probablement le seul chien du foyer - les Podencos sont généralement des chiens sociaux et vivent le mieux en groupe. Caramelo était très content de rencontrer d'autres Podencos, et il vit maintenant avec un autre jeune mâle Podenco et une femelle. Ils courent et jouent si gentiment ensemble, et pour cette raison particulière, nous aimerions trouver un foyer pour Caramelo, où il aurait 1 ou plus de copains chiens déjà présents pour jouer et courir ensemble. Il pourrait également potentiellement être le seul chien d'un foyer, strictement dans le cas où un contact régulier avec d'autres chiens lui est fourni, afin de satisfaire ses besoins sociaux et émotionnels en matière de compagnie canine. Nous ne savons pas encore comment Caramelo réagirait dans un environnement plus animé, cela sera testé au fil du temps, pour l'instant il cherche un foyer proche de la nature, et certainement avec un espace extérieur sécurisé. Caramelo est vraiment un mec sympa - il a juste besoin d'un moment pour se sentir à l'aise là où il est et avec qui il est entouré, puis il devient joueur et affectueux. Il marche également très bien en laisse. Une chose spéciale concernant Caramelo est sa queue enroulée ! Généralement les Podencos n'ont pas une queue enroulée, donc il se distingue certainement parmi ses amis ! Sa hauteur aux épaules est de 51 cm. Comme il vient déjà d'un foyer, nous supposons qu'il est propre à l'intérieur et qu'il s'adaptera probablement rapidement à un nouveau foyer.

Caramelo is a Podenco coming from a home, but he was given away by his humans, reportedly due to difficulties finding a place to live with a dog. He arrived to the shelter in good shape, well-eaten, good fur - so at least we are happy for that, as most Podencos arrive to us in poor conditions. The poor boy was so stressed and tense when he first arrived, and we think he most likely was an only dog of the home - Podencos usually are social dogs and mostly live best in groups. Caramelo was so happy to meet other Podencos, and he now lives together with another young Podenco boy and a female as well. They run and play so nicely together, and especially for that reason, we would love to find a home for Caramelo, where he would have 1 or more dog friends already waiting for him, to play and run together. He could potentially also be an only dog of a home, strictly in case very regular contact with other dogs is provided to him, to satisfy his social and emotional needs for canine companionship. We do not yet know how Caramelo would feel in a busier environment, this will be tested out over time, at the moment he is looking for a home close to the nature, and quite surely with a secure outdoors space. Caramelo is a really cool guy - he just needs a moment to feel comfortable with where he is and who is around him, and then he becomes playful and affectionate. He also walks very well on the leash. One special things about Caramelo is his curled up pig tail! Usually Podencos do not have a curled tail, so he definitely stands out among his friends! His shoulder height is 51cm. As he is already coming from a home, then we assume he is house-clean and will most likely quickly settle in to a new home as well.
