Hazel era una chica asustada que fue rescatada de un refugio en Rumanía. Las fotos que recibimos de ella, estaba con los ojos abiertos y completamente congelada de miedo. Desde que llegó con nosotros en Oakwood, todavía es demasiado temerosa para ser manipulada, sin embargo hemos visto mucha alegría de su parte, especialmente cuando tiene a todos sus compañeros caninos a su alrededor para tener confianza. Hazel es absolutamente fanática de la comida, sin embargo todavía tiene demasiado miedo de nosotros para aceptar golosinas de nuestras manos, por lo tanto estamos construyendo la confianza sin presionarla y permitiéndole tomar las golosinas que se le lanzan. Hazel siempre ha vivido junto a otros perros y creemos que es absolutamente necesario que viva con otro perro. Su confianza con las personas es tan baja que va a necesitar un perro más seguro en su vida que le enseñe el camino. Ella se lleva bien con todos los perros con los que la hemos mezclado hasta ahora, pero los machos son definitivamente su elección preferida, le gusta especialmente nuestros jóvenes Walter, Lewis y Prince <3 Hazel no ha sido probada con gatos. Debido a su naturaleza nerviosa, actualmente no hay manera segura de probarla en este momento. Dexter ha mostrado niveles moderados de energía desde que está con nosotros, pero esto podría aumentar a medida que se vaya adaptando a un hogar. Dexter nunca ha vivido en un hogar antes. Si tuviera que vivir con otro perro, creemos que estaría bien dejarla sola durante 4-5 horas, pero cualquier tiempo en el que esté sola necesitará ser construido gradualmente con el tiempo. Dexter aún es demasiado temerosa de nosotros para intentar el entrenamiento con correa. Dexter no tiene ningún tipo de entrenamiento básico.

Hazel was a terrified girl that was rescued from a shelter in Romania. The photos that we received of her, she was wide eyed and absolutely frozen in fear. During her time with us, this girl has already come so far. She spent months being too scared to take treats from us and would always wait until we were no longer around to eat them, strokes were an absolute no go as you could tell by the fear in her eyes that she always thought something bad was going to happen. These days, Hazel will now happily take treats from our hands, although she can still flinch if we move slightly too quickly, and she loves nothing more than strokes and fusses. She stands and waits patiently in her kennel for her time to have some 1-1 with our volunteers. As she is starting to do so well with people, we have changed her rehoming criterea from needing to live with another dog for confidence to now believing that she would cope absolutely fine as an only dog in the home. Hazel has lots of dog friends at the rescue, male and female. She definately prefers the boys in her life but can be very selective of the females. Hazel has not been tested with cats. Due to her nervous nature, there is currently no safe way of testing her at the moment. Hazel has shown moderate energy levels since being with us but this could increase as she settles into a home Hazel has never lived in a home before. If she was to live with another dog, we believe she'd be ok to be left for 4-5 hours but any time where he will be by himself will need to be slowly built up over time We are just starting to desensitse Hazel to wearing a harness and lead, she's not yet started venturing out on walks due to her nervousness Hazel has no form of basic training
