Adoptar a Piglet

Background: Meet Piglet, a male Syrian hamster. He came to Raystede due to his previous owner's change in circumstances. Piglet is a new arrival and has already experienced a lot of changes in his short life, he appears to be quite a timid and nervous individual so would require a steady, experienced hamster home. Ideal home: Hamsters require a large enclosure of at least 100 x 50 x 50cm. The enclosure should consist of deep, safe bedding, a suitably sized wheel, sand bath and plenty of other enrichment as they prefer busy enclosures. To help Piglet gain confidence in his environment he will require lots of safe spaces and enrichment (such as sprays and scatter feeding) to get him exploring the enclosure. He would prefer a hands-off approach as he does not enjoy being handled. Please see our care guide for more information on suitable hamster enclosures. Children: Piglet is a very nervous hamster so would require a quiet home with no young children. Other animals: Will need to be kept separate from other pets in the home. Additional needs: Piglet is a young hamster who has not had the chance to settle or be socialised. He will need to go to a hamster-savvy owner who has no expectations of him becoming a handleable hamster. We hope that in time and in the right home, he will become a brave little soul.
