¡Hola! Soy Jasper, soy un Shih Tzu sensible e inteligente que busca una casa muy experimentada y solo para adultos. Debo ser honesto, en casas anteriores he mordido cuando me he sentido abrumado. Esto ha ocurrido normalmente cuando me han dado demasiada atención o manejo. Puede parecer que quiero atención, pero me adapto mejor con un enfoque tranquilo, sin tocar y con límites claros. Por esta razón, necesito un dueño que entienda el comportamiento canino, que lea mi lenguaje corporal y que respete mi espacio. No soy un perro de regazo típico y no soy adecuado para casas que buscan un compañero muy cariñoso y de contacto cercano. Necesito ser el único animal de compañía, ya que no me gustan otros perros, y necesitaré áreas tranquilas para pasear o un jardín seguro con mínimo contacto con otros perros. Una casa tranquila con muy pocos visitantes es importante para mí, ya que los ambientes ocupados pueden ser abrumadores. Disfruto estar cerca de mi persona y aprender cosas nuevas, pero todo debe mantenerse bajo control y predecible. También estoy trabajando en estar solo y necesitaré apoyo constante. No seré la opción correcta para la mayoría de las casas, pero con la persona adecuada, experimentada y que me entienda y esté dispuesta a escuchar, puedo construir un vínculo fuerte y leal. Hello! I’m Jasper, a sensitive and intelligent little Shih Tzu looking for a calm, experienced, adult-only home where I can feel safe and understood. I’m a lovely little dog to have around when life is quiet. I enjoy being near my person, pottering about the house, and settling down once I feel comfortable. I like routine and predictability, and I’m happiest when everything feels calm and steady. I form strong bonds with my people and really enjoy spending time together, especially in a low-key way. I’m a bright boy who enjoys learning new things and I respond well when things are kept gentle and consistent. I can find too much handling or attention overwhelming at times, and in the past I’ve reacted by snapping when I’ve felt uncomfortable. I cope much better with a calm, hands-off approach and someone who understands dog body language and will respect my space. I’m not your typical lap dog, but I build a really special bond with the right person, based on trust, patience and understanding. I would need to be the only pet in the home, as I’m not comfortable around other dogs, and I’d benefit from quiet walking areas or a secure garden where I can relax without too much going on around me. A calm home with very few visitors will help me feel settled, as busy environments can be overwhelming for me. I’m also still learning that it’s okay to be left alone, so I’ll need some support and patience with this. With the right person, I’m a really rewarding little dog to live with - I just need someone who understands me and is happy to go at my pace.
