Nya fue rescatada por Adoption Dogs Portugal hace algunos años y ha pasado el tiempo transcurrido en un hogar de acogida amoroso. Ha tenido un progreso significativo en ese tiempo, pero sigue siendo una perra muy miedosa y desconfiada, incluso con personas que conoce bien. Eso hace que sea difícil demostrarle afecto, aunque su cuidador actual puede colocarle una correa y acariciarla si Nya está en un lugar familiar donde se sienta segura. Nya camina bien con la correa, siempre que no se la lleven a una situación que la asuste, pero también camina bien y permanece cerca sin necesidad de la correa. Nya nunca muerde y es muy sumisa. A pesar de su desconfianza hacia los humanos, Nya se siente cómoda con otros perros, siempre que sean amables y la acepten. Una vez que Nya haya establecido un vínculo con un perro al que confía, nunca lo dejará a solas. Estamos buscando un hogar para Nya donde pueda tener mucha libertad al aire libre, preferiblemente en una quinta en un entorno tranquilo donde no haya mucha actividad humana que pueda alarmarla. Nya nunca será una perra cariñosa y no puede ser vista como un "mascota" en el sentido convencional, pero es un excelente perro guardián. Es vigilante, tiene un ladrido fuerte, pero no muerde. Será una compañera fiel para otro perro y puede vivir una vida muy feliz al aire libre en un entorno adecuado y seguro.

Nya was rescued by Adoption Dogs Portugal some years ago and has spent the intervening period in a loving foster home. She has made significant progress in that time, but remains a very scared and mistrustful dog, even with people she knows well. That makes it challenging to demonstrate affection for Nya, although her current carer is able to put her on a lead and stroke her if Nya is in a familiar place where she feels safe. Nya walks well on a lead, as long as she isn’t taken into a situation that scares her, but she also walks well and stays close without a lead. Nya never bites and is very submissive. Despite her mistrust of humans, Nya is comfortable around other dogs, as long as they are kind and they accept her. Once Nya has established a bond with a dog that she trusts, she will never leave its side. We’re looking for a home for Nya where she can have plenty of freedom outdoors, preferably on a quinta in peaceful surroundings where there is not a lot of human activity that might be alarming to her. Nya will never be a cuddly dog, and cannot be viewed as a ‘pet’ in the conventional sense, but she is an exceptionally good guard dog. She is watchful, has a loud bark, but doesn’t bite. She will be a loyal companion to another dog and can live a very happy outdoors life in an appropriate, secure setting.
