Bruma a été repérée pour la première fois alors qu'elle était enceinte dans les rues. Les gens essayaient de la capturer depuis un moment sans succès. Elle a donné naissance à son petit chien et peu de temps après, elle a pu être capturée avec son petit. Elle a été placée en famille d'accueil et s'est très bien adaptée. C'est une petite chienne très douce - très calme et tendre. Elle aime qu'on lui fasse des câlinages par des étrangers et bien qu'elle ne cherche pas spécialement l'affection, elle n'a pas peur ou inquiète en présence d'étrangers. Nous l'avons rencontrée en février en Espagne et elle était super mignonne. Elle marche bien en laisse et est généralement très bien élevée. Elle s'entend bien avec les autres chiens, mais pourrait aussi vivre seule. Elle pourrait vivre avec des enfants de 8 ans et plus qui sont un peu plus calmes. Nous ne pensons pas qu'elle ait nécessairement besoin d'un jardin, mais elle serait probablement plus heureuse en dehors du centre-ville animé. Elle a été testée contre les chats, mais nous pouvons organiser cela. Bruma sera stérilisée, vaccinée et négative pour toutes les maladies méditerranéennes. Our partner shelter heard of two young abandoned podencos alone and close to a road. The shelter team went to search and after hearing that the other podenco had already been rescued, Bruma was finally found, rescued and taken to the safety of the shelter. Bruma was checked by the vet and found to be healthy. It is early days but she is adjusting to life at the shelter. She is great with other dogs and loves attention from the volunteers. Bruma would like a family and home of her own. She enjoys playing with other dogs but also enjoys affection from people so as long as she received the attention she deserves then she could live as an only dog. Although Bruma is settling well, she is still very young and learning about the world. Everything is new to her — routines, people, sounds, boundaries — and she’ll need adopters who can guide her gently through this stage. Podenco youngsters are bright, sensitive and full of energy, and Bruma is no exception. She’ll thrive with structure, patience and plenty of positive experiences to help her grow into a confident adult.. Podenco puppies/adolescents are very cute, but they need consistent training, patience and understanding especially through the adolescent phase where we find a lot of people tend to struggle. If you apply to adopt a podenco puppy, please ensure you have properly thought through the challenges you might face whilst they mature into a wonderful adult where you can then reap the rewards of your hard work. It is a wonderful experience to bring up a pod puppy, but it is not for the faint hearted! Bruma will be vaccinated and tested for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now (for the UK she can travel at 6 months old for EU she can travel at 4 months old). She will also require neutering at the appropriate age.
