Captain est un beau chien, un Berger Allemand d'environ 4 ans, avec une présence frappante et beaucoup de personnalité. Trouvé abandonné dans les rues d'Angleterre, son histoire précoce reste inconnue, mais depuis qu'il a été pris en charge par Islay Dog Rescue, il a fait d'importants progrès et est maintenant prêt à trouver un foyer affectueux et permanent. Pesant 34,6 kg, Captain est un grand et fort chien qui fera certainement tourner les têtes. Malgré sa taille, il montre encore des éclairs de comportement joueur et typiquement canin. Il marche bien en laisse la plupart du temps, mais peut parfois tirer si quelque chose capte son attention. Depuis son arrivée au refuge, il a nettement amélioré sa marche en laisse ainsi que ses bonnes manières en général, et une formation continue l'aidera à atteindre tout son potentiel. Captain vit bien en compagnie humaine et est un garçon affectueux qui apprécie les câlinages et l'attention. Cependant, il a aussi un côté joueur : donnez-lui une balle ou un jouet favori, et il consacrera volontiers toute son énergie au jeu. Captain cherche un environnement stable et sécurisé avec un maître engagé à continuer sa formation et à l'aider à devenir la meilleure version de lui-même. En échange, il offrira fidélité, affection et beaucoup de plaisir. Il est entièrement vacciné, pucé, traité contre les parasites et castré. Captain is a stunning 4-year-old German Shepherd cross weighing approximately 36kg. Having been found abandoned, very little is known about his early history, but what we do know is that he is a lovable, playful boy with plenty of personality. Despite being 4 years old, Captain still has a puppy-like zest for life and is continuing to learn his manners. He is a strong dog who generally walks well on a lead, although he can pull when something catches his attention. One of his favourite habits on walks is finding treasures to carry, whether it's a ball, an empty bottle, or anything else he discovers along the way. Captain loves to play fetch and enjoys running around in a secure field where he can burn off energy and have fun. He thrives on interaction and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Due to his size, strength, and ongoing training needs, Captain cannot live with children. He also has a strong dislike of cats and therefore requires a cat-free home. Captain can be reactive towards some dogs. Ideally, he would be the only dog in the household. However, if there is a resident dog, careful and gradual introductions would be required to assess whether they could live together successfully. Staff are currently working on crate training to help him travel comfortably and confidently.
