Meet HAALAND Haaland was rescued from a hotel in Agios Prokopios after we received a message from a Norwegian tourist. He had a badly infected, swollen foot and was prescribed 3 weeks of antibiotics. This all happened during the World Cup 2026 hence the name Haaland which suits him to a T as he was full of energy and extremely skilled at finding ways to escape his cage! During his therapy we noticed he was drinking a lot of water and peeing a huge amount so we scheduled a vet visit and discovered that he has kidney disease. This is something that if he doesn’t have special renal food and medicines his health will slowly deteriorate and he will die so it is not possible to release him. Since this diagnosis we have also been treating him for Giardia and when he is finished his medications we hope he can be moved to the outside enclosures. He is such a friendly boy with a very charming character everyone falls in love with him. He is improving because he always takes his medicine and is very well behaved. Sadly he must live with us for the rest of his life or be adopted into a forever home that can treat his condition. By virtually adopting Haaland, you’re giving him a happy future.
