Martina vivait dans les rues depuis un certain temps et se trouvait dans un assez mauvais état. Une dame qui la nourrissait a demandé l'aide d'un de nos élevages partenaires et ils ont finalement réussi à la capturer car c'était la seule façon de la saisir. Lorsqu'elle est arrivée, elle était très craintive, mais s'est vraiment améliorée. Bien qu'elle puisse encore être un peu méfiante avec des personnes qu'elle ne connaît pas, vous voyez sa confiance commencer à briller et sa tendance affectueuse apparaître lorsqu'elle est avec des personnes qu'elle connaît et qu'elle fait confiance. Elle a une certaine curiosité qui est souvent un signe de la bonne progression qu'un podenco peut avoir dans un foyer. Elle est très bien avec les autres chiens, mâles et femelles, et s'adapterait bien à un foyer avec d'autres chiens. Nous pensons également qu'elle pourrait être adaptée en tant que seul chien dans le foyer, mais tout adoptant devrait reconnaître qu'elle aura besoin d'un peu de temps et de patience. Globalement, c'est une charmante jeune fille très digne d'avoir un foyer. Elle a quelques moments agréables de liberté lorsqu'elle court et joue avec les autres chiens. Elle pourrait vivre avec des enfants plus âgés respectueux, et bien qu'elle n'ait pas besoin d'un jardin, elle préférerait ne pas être au centre-ville. Martina est stérilisée, vaccinée et teste négative pour toutes les maladies méditerranéennes, à l'exception de l'Ehrlichia, contre laquelle elle a déjà reçu un traitement, nous pouvons donc faire un nouveau test pour vérifier qu'elle est totalement saine. Martina had been living on the streets for some town and was in quite a bad state. A lady who was feeding her asked one of our partner kennels for help and they eventually managed to trap her as it was the only way to catch her. When she first arrived she was very fearful, but has really improved. Whilst she can still be a little suspicious, with people she knows and trusts, you see her confidence start to shine and her affectionate streak comes out. She has a good amount of curiosity which is often a hallmark for how well a podenco might progress in a home. She is great with other dogs both male and female and would do well with other dogs in the home. We do also think she would be OK as an only dog in the home, but any adopter would need to recognise that she will take a little bit of time and patience. Overall she is a lovely girl who is very deserving of a home. She has some lovely carefree moments when she is running and playing with the other dogs. She could live with older respectful children, and whilst she doesn’t need a garden, would prefer not to be in a city centre. Martina is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases excluding Ehrlichia which she has already received treatment for, so we can retest for the all clear.
