Darcy è un incrocio di media taglia, che ha circa due anni. Questa dolce e mite ragazza viveva nel rifugio pubblico di Botosani quando siamo andati a farle visita nell'ottobre dello scorso anno e abbiamo dovuto offrirle l'opportunità di venire nel Regno Unito per trovare una casa. Darcy si è adattata splendidamente alla sua famiglia di accoglienza nel Regno Unito quando è arrivata l'anno scorso ed è stata adottata rapidamente. Si è comportata perfettamente durante il tempo trascorso lì, ma è stata recentemente restituita senza colpa da parte sua. È una ragazza sottomessa e amabile che si intende bene con gli altri cani. Ha bisogno di un cane residente nella sua casa definitiva. Darcy è un po' timida con le mani e si rintana di fronte ai movimenti improvvisi, quindi ha chiaramente non sempre conosciuto la gentilezza dagli umani. Adora abbracci e coccole e può vivere con bambini rispettosi di cinque anni o più. Questo cane ha superato il test con i gatti, quindi può vivere con gatti esperti. Darcy è stata in accoglienza a Buxton Derbyshire. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 dal lunedì al venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Cani anziani (10+ anni): £150–£250 (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Policy di adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI usare un guinzaglio a scatto. Questo terrà il tuo cane al sicuro: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora un guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per evitare che il tuo cane scappi (molti cani possono scappare da collari e/o imbragature). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi per far adattare il tuo cane e per conoscere pienamente il tuo cane (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve essere SEMPRE utilizzato durante questo periodo di adattamento. Anche dopo che il tuo cane si sarà adattato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto in situazioni in cui il tuo cane potrebbe spaventarsi (ad esempio visitando luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni in cui potrebbero esserci trigger imprevisti (ad esempio intorno al 5 novembre). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover sempre indossare un guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere usato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione sul collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Darcy is a medium sized crossbreed aged around two years old. This sweet and gentle girl was living in the Botosani public shelter when we visited in October last year and we just had to offer her the chance to come to the UK to find a home. Darcy settled brilliantly into her UK foster home when she arrived last year and was quickly adopted. She has behaved perfectly in the time she’s been there but has recently been returned through no fault of her own. She is a submissive and amiable girl who mixes well with the other dogs. She needs a resident dog in her forever home. Darcy is a little hand shy and will cower at sudden movements so has clearly not always known kindness from humans. She loves a cuddle and a fuss and could live with respectful children aged five plus. This dog has passed their cat testing so can live with dog savvy cats. Darcy fostered Buxton Derbyshire. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
