Heather è una splendida signora con un animo sensibile e tanta personalità una volta che si apre a te! Heather è entrata nel nostro allevamento come randagia, coperta da ferite e cicatrici in via di guarigione. Non sappiamo cosa sia successo ad Heather prima che arrivasse al BARC ma è una brava signora che può essere timida quando incontra nuove persone all'inizio, ma una volta che si sente a proprio agio è entusiasta e a volte cerca affetto e coccole dalle sue persone preferite. Cerca una casa che abbia un giardino sicuro e privato con recinzione alta a causa del suo istinto predatorio. Può essere preoccupata dal traffico vivace e dai rumori forti quindi una casa più rurale lontano da molte strade trafficate sarebbe ideale per Heather. Può essere nervosa con alcuni cani e con troppe persone che passano davanti a lei durante le passeggiate quindi avrà bisogno di percorsi tranquilli per le passeggiate (campi, boschi, sentieri lontani dalle strade ecc.). A causa del suo alto istinto predatorio e dell'ansia, Heather dovrà rimanere al guinzaglio o alla lunga lesta durante le passeggiate poiché potrebbe inseguire la fauna selvatica o scappare se spaventata. Heather può convivere con bambini ragionevoli di 16 anni o più che saranno in grado di rispettare quando Heather ha bisogno di spazio e vuole essere indipendente - non è il tipo di cane che ama essere circondato o viziato a meno che non cerchi affetto. A volte può essere eccitata e se diventa troppo eccitata può saltare un po' e occasionalmente mordicchiare delicatamente - ma sta bene con l'addestramento e impara a prendere i giocattoli quando si sente troppo eccitata! This beautiful lady is Heather, a young Lurcher looking for her forever home. Heather is a whacky, excitable character with a heart of gold who loves to explore and frequently gets the zoomies, so would suit a semi-rural or rural home with a tall boundary and secure private garden. She can be a little shy when first meeting people but despite some anxiety has been friendly with everyone she has met so far. She soon warms up and will enjoy a cuddle on the sofa with you. As with her breed, Heather can sometimes be a little on the over-excited side, with the occasional gentle mouthing of your hands or jumping up at you – but she is doing incredibly well with her training on this. Because of this reason Heather can only live with Children 16+. She has mixed well with another lurcher on site and had a lovely time making friends with him. Due to prey drive at times Heather can get a little bit carried away with her play, so the dogs she does make friends with will need to be confident and happy for a vocal game of chase! Since being with us, Heather has been advancing day by day. Where she used to slightly worry about going on walks she has been getting more confident as time goes on. She walks beautifully on the lead and would appreciate 1-2 walks a day where she can sniff and explore but she will need to remain on a lead or long line unless she is in a secure dog field due to her prey drive. She’s shown some very mild signs of separation anxiety but this can be worked on with her new family and once she’s had time to settle into her new home, we do feel she’d be okay to be left for a couple of hours. She gains confidence quickly once around people she feels comfortable with so it won’t be long until Heather is your best friend.
