Era bellissimo, pieno d'amore, vita e carattere. Normalmente il tipo di cane che possiamo riabituare facilmente. Tuttavia Monty aveva un problema triste. Aveva la filariasi, che è un problema terribile che può uccidere i cani. È estremamente comune qui ma la cosa più triste è che è molto facile prevenire. Un'iniezione annuale o con pillole/mescolate mensili per via cutanea terrà loro sicuri. Tuttavia, così tanti cani arrivano da noi con questo problema. È perché manca la conoscenza, l'ignoranza o la gente non se ne importa? Non lo sappiamo... Se lasciato senza trattamento è letale. Tuttavia fortunatamente per i cani che entrano in case di soccorso è anche curabile. Ma con un trattamento molto costoso e lungo. Per questo Monty non è stato scelto. È spaventoso per le persone aprire il proprio cuore a un cane con un problema mortale e costoso. Tuttavia per Monty le cose andavano bene. Era felice qui, ha fatto tantissimi amici canini e amava far parte del nostro branco. Il suo viaggio è finito qui.

He was beautiful, full of love, life and character. Normally the type of dog that we can re-home easily. However Monty had a sad problem. He had heartworm (filaria) which is an awful problem that can kill dogs. It's incredibly common here but the saddest thing is that it is very easy to prevent. A yearly injection or with monthly pills/ spot on treatment will keep them safe. However, so many dogs come to us with the problem. Is this because of lack of knowledge, ignorance or people don't care? We don't know… If left untreated it is fatal. However fortunately for the dogs that get into rescue homes it is also treatable. But with a very expensive and long treatment. For this Monty wasn't chosen. It's scary for people to open their hearts to a dog with a fatal and expensive problem. However for Monty things were ok. He was happy here, he has made loads of doggy friends and loved being part of our pack. His journey sadly ended here.
