Peter è un incrocio di grandi dimensioni con circa quindici mesi. Non testato con i gatti. Cane residente sicuro. Solo case con adulti. Peter e suoi fratelli sono stati trovati in una città in Romania lo scorso gennaio. Piccoli cuccioli, persi e in giro tra le auto e tutti i tipi di pericoli. L'uomo che li ha trovati, amico di un amico, ha chiesto l'aiuto di Roxana e sono stati portati nel suo rifugio. Peter è stato curato da noi dallo scorso luglio. Per la maggior parte di quel tempo era molto nervoso e timido, ma recentemente abbiamo tutti notato un elemento di maturazione e diventava molto più sicuro. Si spaventa ancora su alcune cose, ma la reazione spaventata non è più così drammatica e passa velocemente. Peter è un ragazzo dolce una volta che ti conosce, non è pronto per gli estranei che lo toccano, ma si abitua molto più velocemente alle nuove persone e continuiamo a lavorare quotidianamente per migliorare la sua fiducia. Peter avrà bisogno ancora di un adottatore esperto con tempo e pazienza per continuare a costruire la sua fiducia. Avrà bisogno di un ambiente calmo e stabile senza bambini. Avrà bisogno di un cane sicuro nel suo nuovo ambiente che giocherà con lui, poiché ama il gioco spesso rumoroso del suo gruppo di accoglienza. Peter ha fatto l'esperienza con Norwich Norfolk. Se sei interessato, scrivi o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Le quote di adozione sono: Cuccioli già castrati e tutti i cani adulti: £430. Cuccioli non castrati con contratti di sterilizzazione: £530 (riceverai un rimborso di £100 una volta che ci invierai la prova della sterilizzazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): £150–£250 (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Termini e condizioni di adozione Quando adotti un cane da Safe Rescue, DEVI usare una guinzaglio a scatto. Questo terrà al sicuro il tuo cane: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti starà vicino, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per evitare che scappi (molti cani possono scappare da collare e/o imbracatura). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi per farlo ambientare e per conoscere pienamente il tuo cane (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve SEMPRE essere utilizzato durante il periodo di ambientamento. Anche dopo che il cane si sarà ambientato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto in situazioni in cui il cane potrebbe spaventarsi (es. visite a luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni dove potrebbero verificarsi trigger imprevisti (es. intorno al giorno dei fuochi d'artificio). I cani nervosi potranno sempre dover indossare un guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione sul collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il cane si sarà ambientato, potresti considerare l'utilizzo di una imbracatura (insieme al guinzaglio a scatto) se il cane è abituato a essere maneggiato quando è fissata. La maggior parte delle imbracature non è anti-scappatoia, ma le imbracature con una cingia dietro le costole (es. Ruffwear Webmaster o Perfect Fit Harnesses) sono più sicure. Peter is a large crossbreed aged around fifteen months old. Not cat tested. Confident resident dog. Adult only household. Peter and his siblings were found in a city in Romania last January. Small pups, lost and wandering among cars and all sorts of dangers. The man who found them, being a friend of a friend, asked for Roxana’s help and they were taken to her shelter. Peter has been on our care since last July. For most of that time he was very neurotic and skittish but recently we’ve all noticed an element of him maturing and becoming a lot more confident. He still spooks at some things but the spooky reaction is not so melodramatic and passes quickly. Peter is a sweet boy once he knows you, he’s not ready for strangers being hands on with him but he gets used to new people so much faster now and we’re still working daily on improving his confidence. Peter will still need an experienced adopter with the time and patience to continue with his confidence building. He will need a calm and steady household with no children. He will need a confident dog in his forever home that will play with him as he loves the rough and tumble of his foster pack. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
