Reet è una ragazza felice che ci è arrivata da un allevatore e sta iniziando a mostrare la sua vera, vivace personalità mentre si abitua. Adorerebbe trovare una casa attiva dove può continuare a costruire la sua autostima e godersi la vita. Quando è arrivata per la prima volta, Reet era un po' cauta, ma la sua dolce, curiosa natura c'era sempre sotto. Da allora ha davvero iniziato a uscire dal guscio ed è apparso essere una ragazza audace e curiosa con una personalità di grandissima portata che illumina la giornata di chi le sta vicino. Ha conosciuto nuovi cani e persone e sta guadagnando fiducia man mano che esplora nuove aree della vita nel rifugio. Sebbene possa ancora essere un po' nervosa all'inizio quando viene avvicinata, sta imparando a fidarsi sempre di più ogni giorno ed è ora molto più aperta nelle sue interazioni con persone e altri cani nel cortile. Sta anche camminando confidenmente al guinzaglio e gode veramente del suo tempo fuori e in giro, mostrando una bella andatura e crescente autostima. Ha persino dimostrato la volontà di affrontare nuove sfide, come salire su un ostacolo che inizialmente era timida di fronte, con un po' di incoraggiamento (e motivazione con il cibo, come ci si aspetterebbe da un Basset Hound!). Reet trarrà comunque beneficio da un ambiente tranquillo e silenzioso, dove c'è un cane residente gentile e sicuro che la possa guidare mentre continua a costruire la sua autostima. Poiché non ha mai vissuto in una casa prima, avrà bisogno di adottatori pazienti e comprensivi che la supportino nell'addestramento alla casa, nel camminare al guinzaglio in un ambiente domestico e in tutti gli altri aspetti della vita domestica. Non è ancora completamente a suo agio con l'handling e può essere ancora un po' incerta a volte, ma sta migliorando ogni giorno e, con il tempo, la pazienza e tante esperienze positive, si prevede che continuerà a svilupparsi. Reet sta attualmente ricevendo trattamento per un'infezione all'orecchio. Con la sua crescente autostima, la sua natura allegra e la sua voglia di esplorare, Reet si sta sviluppando in un piccolo cane vivace e interessante che farà un meraviglioso compagno nella giusta casa. Reet has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived she was a little worried and quite overwhelmed, but soon started to settle in. Although wary at first, it was clear there was a sweet and curious little Beagle waiting to emerge. During her time at the rescue, Reet gradually began to grow in confidence and show more of her true personality. She proved to be a bright, inquisitive girl with a larger-than-life personality and a real enthusiasm for life. She enjoyed meeting other dogs, exploring new areas, and learning about the world around her. With encouragement (and the promise of a tasty treat!), she even tackled challenges she was initially unsure of. Her confidence on the lead also improved greatly, and she soon began to enjoy her walks and adventures around the rescue. Reet has now moved into a foster home, where she continues to make lovely progress. She has settled in well and is showing herself to be a busy, active little dog who loves to investigate everything around her. One thing that has remained consistent throughout her journey is her love of food, and she is more than happy to accept treats from anyone willing to share them! Toilet training is going very well, and she has been enjoying regular walks outside too. The main area where Reet still needs support is learning to trust human touch. While she is becoming increasingly confident in many aspects of daily life, being handled still worries her and she will often move away from hands. She has only recently arrived in foster and is being allowed to settle at her own pace, with plenty of patience and understanding, but the next step is to introduce her to more bonding activities and getting her more used to being handled. Reet will be looking for a calm and understanding home with patient adopters who are prepared to continue building her confidence and helping her discover how wonderful her new life can be. She will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to reassure her and take her under their wing. Helping a dog like Reet is what makes fostering (and adopting!) so rewarding.
