Reet est une fille joyeuse qui nous est arrivée d'un éleveur et commence maintenant à montrer sa véritable personnalité vive et lumineuse en s'installant. Elle aimerait trouver un foyer actif où elle pourra continuer à développer sa confiance et à profiter de la vie. Lorsqu'elle est arrivée, Reet était un peu méfiante, mais sa douce nature curieuse était toujours présente sous la surface. Depuis, elle a vraiment commencé à sortir de sa coquille et montre qu'elle est une jeune fille audacieuse et curieuse avec une personnalité plus grande que nature qui illumine la journée de ceux qui l'entourent. Elle a rencontré de nouveaux chiens et des personnes et gagne en confiance en explorant de nouvelles facettes de la vie au refuge. Bien qu'elle puisse encore être un peu nerveuse au début lorsqu'on l'aborde, elle apprend à faire plus confiance chaque jour et est maintenant beaucoup plus ouverte dans ses interactions avec les humains et les autres chiens dans la cour. Elle marche également maintenant avec assurance en laisse et profite vraiment de son temps en extérieur, montrant une belle foulée et une croissante assurance. Elle a même montré un désir d'affronter de nouveaux défis, comme gravir un obstacle dont elle était initialement intimidée, avec un peu d'encouragement (et de motivation alimentaire, comme on peut s'y attendre chez un Basset). Reet bénéficiera encore d'un environnement calme et paisible, où il y aura un chien résident gentil et confiant pour l'aider à développer sa confiance pendant qu'elle continue à grandir. Étant donné qu'elle n'a jamais vécu dans un foyer auparavant, elle aura besoin d'adoptants patients et compréhensifs pour l'aider dans l'éducation aux urines, à la marche en laisse dans un cadre domestique et toutes les bases de la vie à la maison. Elle n'est pas encore totalement à l'aise avec le contact physique et peut encore être un peu incertaine parfois, mais elle s'améliore chaque jour et, avec du temps, de la patience et beaucoup d'expériences positives, elle devrait continuer à s'épanouir. Reet est actuellement traitée pour une infection auriculaire. Avec sa croissante confiance, son côté amusant et son envie d'explorer, Reet devient un petit chien dynamique et engageant qui fera un merveilleux compagnon dans le bon foyer. Ce chien peut être adopté avec un chien résident.

Reet has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived she was a little worried and quite overwhelmed, but soon started to settle in. Although wary at first, it was clear there was a sweet and curious little Beagle waiting to emerge. During her time at the rescue, Reet gradually began to grow in confidence and show more of her true personality. She proved to be a bright, inquisitive girl with a larger-than-life personality and a real enthusiasm for life. She enjoyed meeting other dogs, exploring new areas, and learning about the world around her. With encouragement (and the promise of a tasty treat!), she even tackled challenges she was initially unsure of. Her confidence on the lead also improved greatly, and she soon began to enjoy her walks and adventures around the rescue. Reet has now moved into a foster home, where she continues to make lovely progress. She has settled in well and is showing herself to be a busy, active little dog who loves to investigate everything around her. One thing that has remained consistent throughout her journey is her love of food, and she is more than happy to accept treats from anyone willing to share them! Toilet training is going very well, and she has been enjoying regular walks outside too. The main area where Reet still needs support is learning to trust human touch. While she is becoming increasingly confident in many aspects of daily life, being handled still worries her and she will often move away from hands. She has only recently arrived in foster and is being allowed to settle at her own pace, with plenty of patience and understanding, but the next step is to introduce her to more bonding activities and getting her more used to being handled. Reet will be looking for a calm and understanding home with patient adopters who are prepared to continue building her confidence and helping her discover how wonderful her new life can be. She will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to reassure her and take her under their wing. Helping a dog like Reet is what makes fostering (and adopting!) so rewarding.
