Fue contactado por medio de las redes sociales por alguien que había encontrado a Suerte perdida y había estado alimentándola y dándole refugio dentro de una pista de Padel. Ya habían logrado llevarla al veterinario y habían determinado que tiene Leishmaniosis y nos pidieron que interviniéramos para ayudarla. Ya estaba cómoda con ellos y disfrutaba ser acariciada, tener un arnés y una correa puesta, etc., así que fue fácil llevarla a uno de nuestros refugios de rescate. Ha estado allí unos meses y está haciendo muy bien. Es sociable con otros perros, le gusta jugar con ellos y también es muy buena con las personas. Muy cariñosa y afectuosa y le encanta recibir atención. Es una excelente todo terreno que prosperaría en muchas casas. Creemos que sería una buena candidata para una familia con niños. No ha sido probada con gatos pero esto podría organizarse. Tiene muy pocas necesidades además de una casa donde se entienda mejor la Leishmaniosis. Actualmente está en un hogar de acogida en España mientras recibe el tratamiento inicial para la Leishmaniosis y está haciendo muy bien. Está acostumbrada a todas las nuevas vistas y sonidos que vienen con vivir en una casa y se ha adaptado muy bien. Camina bien con la correa y viaja bien en el coche. Suerte estará esterilizada, vacunada y dará negativo para todas las enfermedades mediterráneas excepto Leishmaniosis - como ya se indicó, dio positivo y está recibiendo tratamiento. We were contacted on social media by someone who had found Suerte straying and had been feeding her and given her shelter inside a Padel court. They had already managed to get her to a vet and had determined that she has Leishmania and they asked us to step in to help her. Suerte has shown from day one that she wants to trust people. She was calm and easy to handle on rescue, happily accepting a harness and lead. When she arrived at the shelter, she needed a period of treatment for Leishmania, so a wonderful foster family stepped in and supported her through this. She has since returned to the shelter she enjoys the company of other dogs and loves playing with her kennel friends, though large groups can sometimes overwhelm her. Her love for people is constant. Suerte adores affection, follows volunteers around for cuddles and ear scratches, and forms strong bonds with those she trusts. She would make a lovely family companion and is likely to do well with respectful children. She has not yet been cat tested, but this can be arranged. Suerte walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys her twice‑weekly outings. Heavy vehicles can occasionally startle her, but she generally copes well with traffic, new places, and the excitement of exploring. Her only ongoing need is a home that’s comfortable managing her Leishmania with routine monitoring and care. With this in place, dogs like Suerte can enjoy long, happy, healthy lives — and she’s more than ready for a family to call her own. Suerte will be neutered, is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases excluding Leish - as already stated she has tested positive and is receiving treatment.
