Dexter zoekt een rustig en voorspelbaar thuis in een stil, landelijk gebied met actieve adoptanten die hem veel ontdekkingsreizen in rustige wandelgebieden kunnen geven en hem alle zorg en aandacht kunnen geven die hij verdient. Hij kan leven met kinderen van het zesde jaar/collegeleeftijd die goed met hem kunnen omgaan en hem ruimte geven om te rusten wanneer nodig. Dexter wil de enige huisdier in het gezin zijn zodat hij al de aandacht alleen kan genieten, hij kan erg onzeker zijn met andere honden dus zou hij liever wandelen in rustige wandelgebieden zodat hij rustig kan ontdekken. Hij is een slimme jongen, hij heeft al 'zit', 'aanraken', 'rust' en 'kooitraining' onder de knie, hij is ook muisgetraind omdat hij op een leiband en muis zal gaan naar huis voor zijn jachtdrift. Hij is gelukkig met leren in korte, fijne sessies met behulp van een smakelijke beloning. Dexter heeft een thuis nodig met een privé, veilig tuin met hoge hekken zodat hij tijd zonder leiband kan doorbrengen en spelen. Dexter kalmeert redelijk in het huis en kan tot 2-4 uur alleen worden gelaten, dit moet geleidelijk opgebouwd worden zodra hij genoeg tijd heeft gehad om zich in te passen. Dexter moet meerdere keren met zijn adoptanten kennismaken voordat hij thuiskomt, dus houd dit bij de toepassing in gedachten. Let op dat als u kortgelist is, ons heropvangproces duurt meestal maximaal 7 dagen en potentiële adoptanten moeten naar het centrum komen om hem binnen 48 uur na het korte lijst zijn te ontmoeten. Vrolijk jongen Dexter is een 3-jarige Kelpie-kruising Collie die echt een spelletje ophalen leuk vindt. Hij speelt met teddys en andere speelgoed, maar als er een bal beschikbaar is dan is ophalen het beste spel ooit! Hij vindt het zo leuk dat hij de hele dag zou spelen als hij kon. Hij houdt ervan om een spelletje "vind het" met zijn speelgoed te spelen en als je de flirt-paal eruit haalt, is hij je eeuwige vriend! Hij kan een beetje onafhankelijk zijn, maar houdt wel van aandacht, kop- en rugkrabben zijn zijn favoriet, hij leunt in of springt op de bank met je voor meer. Deze prachtige en knappe jongen is klaar om zijn nieuwe thuis te vinden!

Dexter is looking for a calm and predictable home in a quiet, rural area, with active adopters who can take him on lots of exploring, sniffy adventures in quiet walking areas and will provide him with all the care and attention he deserves. He can live with sixth form/college aged children who will play nicely with him and give him space to rest when needed. Dexter would like to be the only pet in the home so he can enjoy all of the attention to himself, he can be very worried by other dogs so would prefer to go on walks in quiet walking areas so he can explore in peace. He is a clever lad, he already has ‘sit’, 'touch', 'settle' and 'crate training' in the in the bag, he is also muzzled trained as he will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer for his prey drive. He is happy to learning more in short, sweet sessions with the help of a tasty treat. Dexter needs a home with a private, secure garden with high fencing so he can have time off lead to potter around and play. Dexter settles quite nicely in the home and could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle in. Dexter will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home, so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted. Fun loving lad Dexter is a 3 year old Kelpie cross Collie who really enjoys a game of fetch. He will play with teddies and other toys, but if there is a ball available then fetch is the best game ever! He loves it so much that he would play all day if he could. He loves to play a game of find its with his toys and if you get the flirt pole out he will be your best friend forever! He can be quite an independent boy, but does like a fuss, head and back scratches are his favourite, he will lean in or jump onto the sofa with you for more. This fantastic and handsome boy is ready to find his new home!
