Adopt Barbara Pontifract (Babs)

Barbara Pontifract (born in May 2022) has come to Windyway recently due to her owner being unwell and needing to move home at the same time. She was very upset to be parting with Babs but has done it with the best of intentions for Babs to have a more stable life with someone who will love her for the sweet, gentle cat she is. Babs is described as undemanding - she enjoys spending the daytime in her garden and nightttime indoors where it's safe and she can settle down in a box or cubby hole - she has never been a fan of special cat beds! She can be shy initially and for that reason she would be better in an adult home (or with older, respectful children) as she responds well to a quiet, calm and gentle approach. Babs has seen our vet and received treatment for Flea allergic dermatitis - her skin should settle over the next couple of weeks and as long as she is kept up to date with treament we wouldn't expect that to be an ongoing concern. She is spayed, microchipped, and has now completed her vaccinations with us. She needed a dental and this was done in late April - she needed to have one tooth out. The rest were all descaled and healthy. Babs was originally a bit fussy over food and had always been fed on tuna/fish based wet food. At Windyway she initially had mainly either encore, bistro seriously good, applaws or blink, which are real meat pouches or tins. More recently she has happily been transitioning to regular (fishy flavoured) pouches which she is now more than happy to eat, along with a good quality dry food alongside. She is also becoming more relaxed about life in general and enjoying fuss and attention.
