Cisco chegou ao centro Hope For Podencos em 2019 com sua mãe Belle Star, que, acreditem ou não, é um Podenco Andaluz completo - claramente o pai é um pouco menos pardo! Irene achou que ele estava sendo ignorado e decidiu enviá-lo para acolhimento no Reino Unido em julho daquele ano, logo após chegar ao acolhimento, ele foi adotado. Infelizmente, com a chegada de crianças na casa, Cisco teve dificuldade em lidar com as mudanças que isso trouxe. Após treinamento e apoio comportamental, a equipe e a adotante tomaram a difícil decisão de que a mudança no ambiente era simplesmente muito grande para ele e a coisa mais gentil que poderíamos fazer era reabilitá-lo. Sentimos que um novo começo com nosso acolhedor especializado nos daria uma visão muito clara do que está acontecendo com ele e o que ele precisa no futuro - isso fez mundo para ele e agora ele foi transferido para um acolhimento que pode recriar isso para ele. Cisco pode ser um menino ansioso e acreditamos que um lar como único cão, ou com um cão menor e calmo, seria o ideal, pois pode achar cães maiores de qualquer sexo intimidantes. Ele não é o cão mais brincalhão, mas ficará feliz em correr ao lado de qualquer companheiro no jardim ou campo seguro. Ele conseguiu se ligar realmente aos humanos nos dois lares de acolhimento - embora ainda possa ser um pouco mais tímido com seu papai de acolhimento, ele se agrafa facilmente a todos após ser reassurado! Ele foi muito curioso e carinhoso com a equipe quando os conheceu no acolhimento. É um cão de baixa energia que adora ficar deitado no sofá aproveitando carinhos! Cisco precisa de um lar sem crianças ou gatos, para que seus níveis de estímulo permaneçam onde sabemos que funcionam melhor, bem equilibrados e com um ambiente muito rotineiro e previsível - dizendo isso, ele lida bem com a vida em Londres. Ele caminha perfeitamente preso à coleira e suas ansiedades desaparecem quando ele está confiante com seu humano fora. Ele é apenas um garoto tão amoroso e carinhoso, quer estar com pessoas e ser notado. Dito isso, ele pode ficar sozinho por algumas horas por vez. Ele é comilão e isso ajudou muito no treinamento e na conexão. Cisco é castrado, vacinado e negativo para todas as doenças mediterrâneas. Cisco arrived at the Hope For Podencos centre back in 2019 with his mum Belle Star, who believe it or not is a full Podenco Andaluz - clearly dad a little less paddy! Irene felt he was being overlooked so made the decision to send him to UK foster in July of that year, not long after arriving in foster he was adopted. Sadly with the addition of children arriving in the home, Cisco has struggled to cope with the changes this has brought. After training and behaviour support the team and adopter made the difficult decision that the environment change was just too much for him and the kindest thing we could do was re-home him. We felt a reset with our specialist foster would give us a really clear picture of what is going on for him,and what he needs moving forward - this did him the world of good and he has now been moved to a foster that can re-create this for him. Cisco can be an anxious boy, and we feel that either a home as an only dog, or with a smaller calm dog would work best as he can find larger dogs of either sex intimidating. He is not the most playful dog, but will happily have a run alongside any companion in the garden or secure field. He has been able to really bond with the humans in both foster homes - although he can still be a little more shy with his foster dad he happily cuddles up to all once reassured! He was really curious and affectionate with the team when they met him in foster. He is a low energy dog that just loves to be lounging around on the sofa enjoying cuddles! Cisco needs a home with no children or cats, so that his stimulation levels can remain where we know they work best, nice and level with a very routine and predictable environment - that being said ha handles London life well. He walks beautifully on the lead and his anxieties drop away when he is confident with his human out and about. He is just such a loving and affectionate boy, he wants to be with people and made a fuss of. That being said he can be left for a few hours at a time. He is a foody and this has helped greatly with training and bonding. Cisco is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
