Cisco è arrivato al centro Hope For Podencos nel 2019 con sua madre Belle Star, che credetelo o no è un vero Podenco Andaluz - chiaramente il padre era un po' meno pazzo! Irene ha sentito che era stato trascurato e ha deciso di mandarlo in un allevamento nel Regno Unito nel luglio di quell'anno, non molto dopo essere arrivato in allevamento è stato adottato. Purtroppo, con l'arrivo di bambini in casa, Cisco ha avuto difficoltà a gestire i cambiamenti che questo ha portato. Dopo addestramento e supporto comportamentale, il team e l'adottatore hanno preso la difficile decisione che il cambiamento ambientale era troppo per lui e la cosa più gentile che potevamo fare era rimandarlo in adozione. Pensavamo che un reset con il nostro allevatore specializzato ci avrebbe dato una visione molto chiara di cosa stava succedendo per lui e di cosa aveva bisogno in futuro - questo gli ha fatto un mondo di bene e ora è stato spostato in un allevamento che può ricreare questa situazione per lui. Cisco può essere un ragazzo ansioso, e pensiamo che un ambiente con un solo cane o con un cane più piccolo e calmo funzionerebbe meglio, poiché può trovare cani più grandi di entrambi i sessi minacciosi. Non è il cane più giocherellone, ma sarà felice di correre accanto a qualsiasi compagno nel giardino o in un campo sicuro. È riuscito a legarsi veramente agli umani in entrambi gli allevamenti - anche se può ancora essere un po' più timido con suo padre allevatore, si appiccica volentieri a tutti una volta rassicurato! Era molto curioso e affettuoso con il team quando li ha incontrati in allevamento. È un cane a bassa energia che ama passare il tempo sul divano godendosi le coccole! Cisco ha bisogno di una casa senza bambini o gatti, in modo che i suoi livelli di stimolazione possano rimanere dove sappiamo che funzionano meglio, tranquilli e regolari con un ambiente molto ordinato e prevedibile - detto questo, si adatta bene alla vita in città. Cammina perfettamente al guinzaglio e le sue ansie scompaiono quando è sicuro con il suo umano in giro. È semplicemente un ragazzo così dolce e affettuoso, vuole stare con le persone e farsi notare. Detto questo, può rimanere solo per alcune ore alla volta. È goloso e questo ha aiutato molto nell'addestramento e nel legame. Cisco arrived at the Hope For Podencos centre back in 2019 with his mum Belle Star, who believe it or not is a full Podenco Andaluz - clearly dad a little less paddy! Irene felt he was being overlooked so made the decision to send him to UK foster in July of that year, not long after arriving in foster he was adopted. Sadly with the addition of children arriving in the home, Cisco has struggled to cope with the changes this has brought. After training and behaviour support the team and adopter made the difficult decision that the environment change was just too much for him and the kindest thing we could do was re-home him. We felt a reset with our specialist foster would give us a really clear picture of what is going on for him,and what he needs moving forward - this did him the world of good and he has now been moved to a foster that can re-create this for him. Cisco can be an anxious boy, and we feel that either a home as an only dog, or with a smaller calm dog would work best as he can find larger dogs of either sex intimidating. He is not the most playful dog, but will happily have a run alongside any companion in the garden or secure field. He has been able to really bond with the humans in both foster homes - although he can still be a little more shy with his foster dad he happily cuddles up to all once reassured! He was really curious and affectionate with the team when they met him in foster. He is a low energy dog that just loves to be lounging around on the sofa enjoying cuddles! Cisco needs a home with no children or cats, so that his stimulation levels can remain where we know they work best, nice and level with a very routine and predictable environment - that being said ha handles London life well. He walks beautifully on the lead and his anxieties drop away when he is confident with his human out and about. He is just such a loving and affectionate boy, he wants to be with people and made a fuss of. That being said he can be left for a few hours at a time. He is a foody and this has helped greatly with training and bonding. Cisco is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
