Nala é um doce com um lado tímido, mas ela se liga rapidamente às pessoas e não deverá demorar muito para formar um vínculo com uma nova família. Ela fica um pouco sobrecarregada se houver muita coisa acontecendo em seu entorno, mas em áreas calmas ela gosta de farejar bastante e fica muito mais relaxada. Ela adora ser cobiçada e vai empurrar seu cotovelo para que possa se encolher debaixo do seu braço! Nala adora guloseimas saborosas, especialmente queijo, e isso é uma ótima maneira de começar a treiná-la para ajudá-la a ganhar confiança. Ela já tem um bom entendimento de treinamento básico e conhece alguns comandos e truques. Treinamento adicional ajudaria a fortalecer o vínculo com seus adotantes, mas limites devem ser estabelecidos na casa desde o primeiro dia. Nala não deve ser permitida em camas ou sofás, pois nem sempre ela gostou de pessoas compartilhando esse espaço com ela. Ela deve ter seu próprio espaço seguro e confortável em casa onde pode ficar sozinha. Cães estão perfeitamente bem sem acesso ao sofá! Nala não teve muitas interações positivas com outros cães em seus anos de formação, e isso a deixou desconfiada dos outros. Ela pode andar perto deles se for introduzida lentamente e adequadamente, mas não deve ser forçada a nenhum encontro face a face, pois isso não a ajudará em nada. Nala requer uma casa sem outros animais e apenas adultos. Ela está treinada para fazer suas necessidades e embora ela precise de alguém em casa com ela durante a maior parte do dia inicialmente, depois de se acostumar pode ficar sozinha por algumas horas sem preocupação. Ela é uma menina nervosa que precisará de uma família comprometida em passar tempo conhecendo-a ao longo de algumas visitas no centro.

Meet Nala! The biggest, brightest smile in the centre and she does a great job of putting smiles on her carers faces also, with her cheekiness and loving nature, and especially her fondness for playing with water! She’s a big, beautiful dog, a long-term resident whom we adore, and she’s looking for a calm and committed home with a family that will take the time getting to know her. Nala loves hard and we guarantee that if you give her the time, she will love you just as much as she loves the team at the centre. She’s very confident and knows what she wants and how to get it! In fact, Nala absolutely thrives when allowed to make her own choices, such as when she does and does want attention, and she has fantastic communication skills if she’s paid attention to. Nala can sometimes be vocal around other dogs and may bark at unfamiliar people or dogs when out and about. However, with careful and gradual introductions, she has shown that she can walk nicely alongside calm dogs, but she is muzzled. She will need a home that can offer quiet walking areas and she travels brilliantly in a vehicle so she can be taken to these places if necessary. We are hoping to find a dedicated home that is happy to follow guidance and advice from the centre, and who are excited about taking on a project dog. With the right support and boundaries, Nala has so much potential to grow and truly flourish into a wonderful companion. Nala is looking for an adult home where she can be the only pet. She’s perfectly house trained and settles well once she feels comfortable, and can be left alone for a few hours when she’s at that point. Nala has shown us that she can open doors so this is where her family may have to make some changes to handles in the home to prevent any adventuring! She will need multiple meets with her adopters before going home so she can feel confident when she leaves our care.
