Nala es un amor con un lado tímido, pero se acerca rápidamente a las personas y no debería llevarle mucho tiempo formar un vínculo con una nueva familia. Se siente un poco abrumada si hay muchas cosas sucediendo a su alrededor, pero en áreas tranquilas le gusta olfatear bien y se relaja mucho más. Le encanta que la hagan caso y empujará tu codo para poder acurrucarse bajo tu brazo. Nala ama los deliciosos bocadillos, especialmente el queso, y esto es una excelente manera de comenzar algún entrenamiento con ella para ayudarla a construir su confianza. Tiene un buen entendimiento del entrenamiento básico ya, y sabe algunas órdenes y trucos. Un entrenamiento adicional ayudaría a fortalecer el vínculo con sus adoptantes, pero los límites deben establecerse desde el primer día en casa. A Nala no se le debe permitir estar en camas o sofás, ya que no siempre ha disfrutado que otras personas compartieran ese espacio con ella. Debe tener su propio espacio seguro y cómodo en la casa donde pueda quedarse sola. Los perros están bien sin acceso al sofá. Nala no tuvo muchas interacciones positivas con otros perros en sus años de formación, y esto la ha hecho desconfiar de ellos. Puede caminar cerca de ellos si se los presenta lentamente y adecuadamente, pero no debe forzarla a ningún tipo de encuentro cara a cara, ya que esto no la ayudará en absoluto. Nala requiere un hogar sin otros animales domésticos y solo adultos. Está entrenada para hacer sus necesidades en el interior y aunque necesitará que alguien esté con ella la mayor parte del día inicialmente, una vez establecida puede quedarse sola durante unas horas sin problema. Es una chica nerviosa que necesitará una familia comprometida a pasar tiempo conociéndola durante varias visitas en el centro.

Meet Nala! The biggest, brightest smile in the centre and she does a great job of putting smiles on her carers faces also, with her cheekiness and loving nature, and especially her fondness for playing with water! She’s a big, beautiful dog, a long-term resident whom we adore, and she’s looking for a calm and committed home with a family that will take the time getting to know her. Nala loves hard and we guarantee that if you give her the time, she will love you just as much as she loves the team at the centre. She’s very confident and knows what she wants and how to get it! In fact, Nala absolutely thrives when allowed to make her own choices, such as when she does and does want attention, and she has fantastic communication skills if she’s paid attention to. Nala can sometimes be vocal around other dogs and may bark at unfamiliar people or dogs when out and about. However, with careful and gradual introductions, she has shown that she can walk nicely alongside calm dogs, but she is muzzled. She will need a home that can offer quiet walking areas and she travels brilliantly in a vehicle so she can be taken to these places if necessary. We are hoping to find a dedicated home that is happy to follow guidance and advice from the centre, and who are excited about taking on a project dog. With the right support and boundaries, Nala has so much potential to grow and truly flourish into a wonderful companion. Nala is looking for an adult home where she can be the only pet. She’s perfectly house trained and settles well once she feels comfortable, and can be left alone for a few hours when she’s at that point. Nala has shown us that she can open doors so this is where her family may have to make some changes to handles in the home to prevent any adventuring! She will need multiple meets with her adopters before going home so she can feel confident when she leaves our care.
