Nala è una dolce ragazza con un lato timido, ma si affeziona velocemente alle persone e non dovrebbe impiegare molto per formare un legame con una nuova famiglia. Le piace molto essere coccolata e spesso spinge il tuo gomito per potersi rannicchiare sotto il tuo braccio! Nala adora i gustosi snack, specialmente il formaggio, e questo è un ottimo modo per iniziare a farle fare dell'addestramento che la aiuterà a costruire la sua autostima. Ha già una buona comprensione dell'addestramento base e sa alcuni comandi e trucchi. Un ulteriore addestramento contribuirà a rafforzare il legame con i suoi adottatori, ma devono essere stabiliti dei limiti fin da subito in casa. Non deve essere permetta di stare sui letti o sui divani, poiché non ha sempre apprezzato la condivisione di quel spazio con le persone. Deve avere un proprio spazio sicuro e confortevole in casa dove può rimanere da sola. I cani vanno bene senza accesso al divano! Nala non ha avuto molti contatti positivi con altri cani durante i suoi anni formativi e questo l'ha resa cauta verso gli altri. Può camminare vicino a loro se introdotti lentamente e in modo appropriato, ma non deve essere costretta a incontri faccia a faccia poiché non le darebbe nessun beneficio. Nala necessita di una casa senza altri animali domestici e con adulti soltanto. È abituata a stare in casa e anche se inizialmente avrà bisogno di qualcuno con lei per la maggior parte del giorno, una volta sistemata potrà rimanere sola per alcune ore senza problemi. È una ragazza nervosa che avrà bisogno di una famiglia impegnata a dedicarle tempo per conoscerla nel corso di diverse visite al centro.

Meet Nala! The biggest, brightest smile in the centre and she does a great job of putting smiles on her carers faces also, with her cheekiness and loving nature, and especially her fondness for playing with water! She’s a big, beautiful dog, a long-term resident whom we adore, and she’s looking for a calm and committed home with a family that will take the time getting to know her. Nala loves hard and we guarantee that if you give her the time, she will love you just as much as she loves the team at the centre. She’s very confident and knows what she wants and how to get it! In fact, Nala absolutely thrives when allowed to make her own choices, such as when she does and does want attention, and she has fantastic communication skills if she’s paid attention to. Nala can sometimes be vocal around other dogs and may bark at unfamiliar people or dogs when out and about. However, with careful and gradual introductions, she has shown that she can walk nicely alongside calm dogs, but she is muzzled. She will need a home that can offer quiet walking areas and she travels brilliantly in a vehicle so she can be taken to these places if necessary. We are hoping to find a dedicated home that is happy to follow guidance and advice from the centre, and who are excited about taking on a project dog. With the right support and boundaries, Nala has so much potential to grow and truly flourish into a wonderful companion. Nala is looking for an adult home where she can be the only pet. She’s perfectly house trained and settles well once she feels comfortable, and can be left alone for a few hours when she’s at that point. Nala has shown us that she can open doors so this is where her family may have to make some changes to handles in the home to prevent any adventuring! She will need multiple meets with her adopters before going home so she can feel confident when she leaves our care.
