Nala est une adorable fille un peu timide, mais elle s'attache rapidement aux personnes et ne devrait pas mettre longtemps à former un lien avec une nouvelle famille. Elle se sent un peu submergée si beaucoup de choses se passent autour d'elle, mais dans les zones calmes, elle aime faire de bonnes promenades et est bien plus détendue. Elle adore qu'on lui fasse des bisous et poussera votre coude pour pouvoir se blottir sous votre bras ! Nala adore les bons petits plats, notamment le fromage, et c'est un excellent moyen de commencer un entraînement avec elle pour l'aider à gagner en confiance. Elle comprend déjà bien les bases de l'entraînement et connaît quelques ordres et tours. Un entraînement supplémentaire aiderait à renforcer le lien avec ses adoptants, mais les limites doivent être fixées dès le premier jour à la maison. Nala ne doit pas monter sur les lits ou les canapés, car elle n’a pas toujours aimé que les gens partagent cet espace avec elle. Elle doit avoir son propre espace sûr et confortable dans la maison où elle pourra rester seule. Les chiens sont tout à fait bien sans accès au canapé ! Nala n’a pas eu beaucoup d’interactions positives avec d'autres chiens pendant ses années de formation, ce qui l'a rendue méfiante envers les autres. Elle peut marcher à proximité d'eux si elles sont présentées lentement et correctement, mais on ne doit en aucun cas forcer des rencontres face à face, cela ne l'aiderait pas du tout. Nala nécessite un foyer sans autres animaux et uniquement des adultes. Elle est dressée à l'intérieur et, bien qu'elle ait besoin d'une personne à la maison avec elle pendant la majeure partie de la journée au début, une fois installée, elle peut rester seule pendant quelques heures sans problème. C'est une jeune fille nerveuse qui aura besoin d'une famille dévouée à passer du temps pour la connaître au cours de plusieurs visites au centre.

Meet Nala! The biggest, brightest smile in the centre and she does a great job of putting smiles on her carers faces also, with her cheekiness and loving nature, and especially her fondness for playing with water! She’s a big, beautiful dog, a long-term resident whom we adore, and she’s looking for a calm and committed home with a family that will take the time getting to know her. Nala loves hard and we guarantee that if you give her the time, she will love you just as much as she loves the team at the centre. She’s very confident and knows what she wants and how to get it! In fact, Nala absolutely thrives when allowed to make her own choices, such as when she does and does want attention, and she has fantastic communication skills if she’s paid attention to. Nala can sometimes be vocal around other dogs and may bark at unfamiliar people or dogs when out and about. However, with careful and gradual introductions, she has shown that she can walk nicely alongside calm dogs, but she is muzzled. She will need a home that can offer quiet walking areas and she travels brilliantly in a vehicle so she can be taken to these places if necessary. We are hoping to find a dedicated home that is happy to follow guidance and advice from the centre, and who are excited about taking on a project dog. With the right support and boundaries, Nala has so much potential to grow and truly flourish into a wonderful companion. Nala is looking for an adult home where she can be the only pet. She’s perfectly house trained and settles well once she feels comfortable, and can be left alone for a few hours when she’s at that point. Nala has shown us that she can open doors so this is where her family may have to make some changes to handles in the home to prevent any adventuring! She will need multiple meets with her adopters before going home so she can feel confident when she leaves our care.
