Hugo är en underbar ett år gammal Akita–Border Collie-korsning som för närvarande är i vår vård genom vår Homestay-schemat. Som en ung, levande hund är han full av entusiasm för livet och lär sig nya färdigheter varje dag. Med kontinuerlig träning kommer han säkert att växa ännu mer. Hugo är stor, kärleksfull och mjuk och älskar människor, leksaker, spel och många kramar. Han har en lekfull, nyfiken natur och älskar att utforska sin omgivning. Han är en vilig, social kamrat som kommer att trivas med lugn, konsekvent ledning och en familj som gillar positiv träning och är engagerad i honom. Han bygger fortfarande konfiden med att spendera tid ensam, så han behöver ett hem där lämnandet är initialt mycket lågt, tillsammans med en mild, strukturerad plan som hjälper honom att utveckla oberoende på hans egen tid. Hugo reser bra och får snabbt tillträde i bilen. Även om han kan börja lite vaksam, slappnar han snabbt av och kan njuta resan bekvämt. Hugo kommer att lyfta fram sitt bästa i ett lugnt till moderat aktivt hem där han kan njuta av konsekvent rutin och en fredlig miljö. Han kan bo i ett hus med äldre tonåringar eller vuxna. Hugo bor just nu med äldre barn och interagerar respektfullt med dem. Eftersom han är en levande, entusiastisk ung man som uttrycker sin glädje genom att hoppa och göra ljud, söker han ett hem utan mycket små barn. För att hjälpa Hugo att anpassa sig bekvämt behöver ett hem med få besökare – särskilt från början – vilket stödjer hans självförtroende och hindrar att han blir övermäktigt upphetsad. Hugo är en underbart vänlig och kärleksfull ung hund med en stor personlighet. Han lär sig fortfarande att hantera alla sina känslor, särskilt när han träffar nya människor, utforskar nya platser eller möter andra hundar. Han söker ett engagerat, positivt hem som gillar träning och är redo att hjälpa honom att fortsätta utveckla sin ledtrådsgång, hälsningsmått, fokus och lugn. Hugo kommer att behöva vara den enda hunden i sitt nya hem. Han har haft begränsade samhällserfarenheter med andra hundar och kan bli väldigt entusiastisk och frustrerad när han ser dem nära. Med tålmodig ledning och kontinuerlig träning får han chansen att bygga bättre hund-till-hund-färdigheter med tiden.

Hugo is a handsome one-year-old Akita–Border Collie cross looking for his forever home through our Homestay scheme. This young boy is full of life, love, and personality. At just one year old, Hugo is still learning about the world and developing new skills every day. He's a bright, eager dog who has already made great progress and will continue to flourish with patient, positive guidance. Hugo is a big, affectionate softie who absolutely loves being with his people. Whether it's playing with his favourite toys, enjoying a game in the garden, exploring on a walk, or curling up for cuddles afterwards, he's happiest when he's included in family life. He has a playful, curious nature and is always keen to see what adventure comes next. Hugo is looking for a home that will enjoy continuing his training and helping him channel his enthusiasm into calm, confident behaviours. He's a clever dog who responds well to reward-based training and loves having something to learn. He's also still building confidence with spending time on his own, so he'll need a home where leaving hours are kept very low to begin with. With a gentle, structured approach, Hugo can gradually learn that being alone is nothing to worry about. Hugo travels well in the car and settles down nicely once he's on the move. He may be a little alert when a journey begins, but he quickly relaxes and is happy to enjoy the ride. Hugo is a friendly, affectionate young dog with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. He loves being around his people and is full of enthusiasm for life. Like many young dogs, he's still learning how to manage his excitement and emotions, so he's looking for a family who will enjoy continuing his training and helping him grow into the brilliant companion he's destined to be. Hugo would thrive in a calm to moderately active home where he can enjoy a consistent routine and plenty of time with his favourite humans. He currently lives with older children and is gentle and respectful with them, so he could happily live with sensible secondary school-aged children or in an adult-only home. Because he gets so excited when greeting people, he can be a little bouncy and vocal, so a home without very young children would suit him best. A quieter household with fewer visitors, especially while he's settling in, will help Hugo feel relaxed and prevent him from becoming overwhelmed. Hugo is a clever boy who is eager to learn. He's already making progress with his training and is looking for adopters who will continue building his confidence, loose-lead walking, calm greetings, and focus using positive, reward-based methods. Hugo will need to be the only dog in his new home. He hasn't had many positive social experiences with other dogs and can become overexcited and frustrated when he sees them. With patient, ongoing training, he has every opportunity to continue improving his dog skills while enjoying life as the centre of attention at home.
