Laney hittades på gatan och förmåddes med mat, en gång när hon var fångad såg man att hon hade en skada på höften vilken hon har fått operation och fysioterapi för. Laney är en sådan vänlig och levande hund som har kämpat mot mycket, hon är mjukartad och spelaktig med andra hundar. Hon älskar kramar och omsorg från personalen som tar hand om henne – de alla älskar henne. Hennes höftskada som hon fortfarande återhämtar sig från orsakar inte problem, men hon skulle behöva ett lugnare liv och skulle inte vara lämplig för turism eller löpaktiviteter. Hon kan leva som enda hund eller med andra respektfulla, väl balanserade hundar. Vi tror att ett lugnare liv utanför större städer passar henne med många grönområden att utforska. Hon behöver en trädgård och kan glatt bo med äldre barn som förstår att hon behöver behandlas mjukt. Laney kommer att bli kastrerad, vaccinerad och testad för alla Medelhavssjukdomar – hon kommer att behöva fortsatt fysioterapi varje två veckor men detta kommer att minska över tid till bara att behöva övervakning och regelbundna veterinärbesök. Laney was rescued from the streets after being lured to safety with food. Once she was secure, it quickly became apparent that she had a significant injury to her hip. She went on to receive surgery followed by a long period of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Laney is such a lovely, spirited dog and has overcome so much. She is sweet-natured and playful with other dogs, and loves cuddles and affection from the team members who care for her — they all absolutely adore her. She has made an incredible recovery from her surgery. She has regained her weight and muscle mass, no longer has a limp and does not require any medication, physiotherapy or ongoing treatment. She can live a normal, active life, although because of her previous injuries we would be looking for a home where she can enjoy a slightly calmer pace of life. She would not be suited to intense or high-impact activities such as agility, regular running or very strenuous hikes. As with any dog who has experienced significant orthopaedic trauma, there is a possibility of stiffness or degenerative changes later in life, so maintaining a healthy weight and monitoring her mobility as she gets older will be important. Laney could live as an only dog or alongside respectful, well-balanced dogs, and she really enjoys playing with canine friends. We think she would be happiest outside of a major city, with plenty of green spaces to explore. She does need her own secure garden and could happily live with older children who understand that she should be treated gently and respectfully. Laney will be neutered, and is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
