Laney è stata salvata dalle strade e attratta con cibo, una volta che è stata catturata è apparso chiaro che aveva un infortunio all'anca che ha ricevuto interventi chirurgici e terapia fisica. Laney è un cane molto dolce e vivace e ha superato molto, ha un carattere dolce e giocoso con altri cani. Le piace abbracciare e ricevere affetto dai membri dello staff che se ne occupano - tutti l'adorano. Il suo infortunio all'anca di cui si sta ancora riprendendo non le causa problemi, ma avrebbe bisogno di una vita più calma e non sarebbe adatta a escursioni o attività di corsa. Potrebbe vivere come unico cane o con altri cani rispettosi e ben equilibrati. Pensiamo che un ritmo di vita più calmo fuori dalle grandi città sarebbe adatto per lei con tanti spazi verdi da esplorare. Ha bisogno di un giardino e potrebbe vivere felicemente con bambini più grandi che sappiano trattarla con delicatezza. Laney sarà castrata, vaccinata e testata per tutte le malattie mediterranee - avrà bisogno di terapia fisica ogni due settimane ma questo diminuirà nel tempo richiedendo solo monitoraggio e visite regolari dal veterinario. Laney was rescued from the streets after being lured to safety with food. Once she was secure, it quickly became apparent that she had a significant injury to her hip. She went on to receive surgery followed by a long period of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Laney is such a lovely, spirited dog and has overcome so much. She is sweet-natured and playful with other dogs, and loves cuddles and affection from the team members who care for her — they all absolutely adore her. She has made an incredible recovery from her surgery. She has regained her weight and muscle mass, no longer has a limp and does not require any medication, physiotherapy or ongoing treatment. She can live a normal, active life, although because of her previous injuries we would be looking for a home where she can enjoy a slightly calmer pace of life. She would not be suited to intense or high-impact activities such as agility, regular running or very strenuous hikes. As with any dog who has experienced significant orthopaedic trauma, there is a possibility of stiffness or degenerative changes later in life, so maintaining a healthy weight and monitoring her mobility as she gets older will be important. Laney could live as an only dog or alongside respectful, well-balanced dogs, and she really enjoys playing with canine friends. We think she would be happiest outside of a major city, with plenty of green spaces to explore. She does need her own secure garden and could happily live with older children who understand that she should be treated gently and respectfully. Laney will be neutered, and is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
