Carbon

Male · Young · 2 years

Carbon is a young, energetic dog who, despite his age, has already experienced quite a bit. He arrived at the animal shelter with an unknown past, but every day he shows that he still has a huge amount of joy and a desire to live. When you approach his kennel, he may appear calm and withdrawn. Nothing could be more wrong! Carbon is a living silver of emotions hidden in a small dog. It’s no wonder that he sometimes gnaws on volunteers out of excitement when getting his harnesses put on. On walks, he strides so confidently that he can keep up with even very fast walkers. Carbon loves movement, going out together, and the opportunity to discover the world. On the other hand, it’s clear that this world overwhelms him, so he tends to sniff and investigate everything and everyone around him. Most likely, no one has taken the time to properly socialize him and teach him that he doesn’t need to be afraid of every passing dog, and that with a leash on, he can walk and explore in peace. His joyful antics and cute white “sock” regularly elicit smiles from those who get to know him. This is a dog who would be a great companion for an active person, but he also needs a sense of security and stability just as much as he needs walks. Clearly, there is potential for further learning and relationship-building in this pup. He is not pushy in contact and values a calm human presence more than intense affection. We are looking for a responsible home for Carbon that will not only provide him with activity but also support, patience, and the opportunity to further develop the skills needed for good functioning. In the right hands, Carbon has the chance to grow into an excellent, devoted companion. Due to Carbon’s emotional nature, we do not recommend him for a home with very small children. We recommend him more as a single dog. However, we do not rule out that the presence of a stable resident dog, from which he could learn good patterns, would be beneficial for him. We do not know his relationship with cats. We invite you to meet Carbon.

Nic bardziej mylnego! Carbon to żywe srebro i masa emocji ukrytych w małym piesku. Rekomendujemy go raczej jako psiego jedynaka. Zapraszamy do poznania Carbona.

About Carbon

What life with Carbon looks like

Carbon is a small young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Carbon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Carbon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Carbon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Carbon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Carbon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Carbon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Carbon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
