Drop

Male · Young · 2 years

Drop is a fantastic little guy who would love to be in three places at once but most of all with his people. We think he’s younger than the official age given at the animal shelter. He’s very curious and likes to act first and think later. This is a dog who jumps into the water first and then thinks if he went too far. He loves walks in the fields but also does well in the city climate. He quickly forms a warm friendship with anyone who stands by his kennel with a leash, even though he’s not a cuddly type. He can get along with other dogs, but he might growl if someone tries to be too friendly with the people he considers his own. At the animal shelter, Drop struggles a lot because he has too few walks, too little room to run, and the noise makes it hard to rest. He gives the impression of a lost child who desperately wants to cling to any person he meets. For Drop, we’re looking for a home that provides long, peaceful walks in a quiet neighborhood, suitable for a very young dog but also plenty of peace in the home and uninterrupted time for rest. Drop will thrive with people who have a well-organized routine where it’s known when the walk is, when the food is, and when the rest is, and who prefer simple walks together to just petting. Drop was with us recently at the Warsaw Adopt-a-Dog event at Agrykoli and met the real city crowd. It was there that he also had the opportunity to snorkel with carp in a canal near Łazienki and was delighted. It was clear that in the large crowd, he was a bit disoriented and then pulled more on the leash. But in the nearby parks, he functioned wonderfully. He didn’t run after bicycles, behaved courteously to other dogs he met, spent a lot of time sniffing, and could also sit and wait patiently until we continued on our way, elegantly riding in the car. He eagerly approached people he met, checked out every nook, path, and door he passed. A bit like he was still looking for someone...

Chętnie podchodził do napotkanych osób, sprawdzał też wszystkie zakamarki, ścieżki i mijane drzwi. Trochę jakby wciąż kogoś szukał... Asia 693120248 Dorota 534308839

About Drop

What life with Drop looks like

Drop is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drop, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drop?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drop on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drop if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drop already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drop isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drop and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
