Koba

Male · Puppy · 11 months

Koba is a wonderful long-legged puppy with the potential to be a great life companion. Despite his young age, he gives the impression of a stable and well-balanced dog. He communicates well with other dogs, though as a teenager, he tries to assert himself among other serious males, often trying to assert his presence. In the early days at the animal shelter, he was a bit scared but, in truth, he is a confident dog who quickly settled in. Walking on a leash with him is very pleasant. Koba is at an age when he is interested in absolutely everything and wants to explore the world, fly with birds, and check out what’s in the forest. Unfortunately, at the animal shelter, he gets just one walk a day. For Koby, we are looking for a home where he can go on long walks in a quiet neighborhood, where the young dog will have guaranteed interactions with other dogs, and a place where the dog has time and space for a peaceful rest. We suspect that Koba has never lived in a home and has never seen the city, so he will have to learn all of this from scratch.

PL·Show original

Niestety w schronisku to najwyżej jeden spacer dziennie. About Koba

What life with Koba looks like

Koba is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
