Adopt Abgabekatze Stumpy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Abgabekatze Stumpy EKH, female/neutered, born 2023, surrendered due to financial hardship…Stumpy came to us via our veterinary clinic – the pretty female cat suffered a tail amputation during one of her excursions and needed urgent medical help, which her owners could not afford. After a brief stay with us, she was temporarily placed in a foster home where she could receive more intensive care. Once Stumpy had recovered from her operation and all the treatments, she was able to move into one of our cat rooms and is searching for a very special home, because she is both house- and litter-box trained. There she lives with our other emergency cat, Coco. Stumpy is not particularly enthusiastic about other cats at first, but we notice that she occasionally tries to make contact. It seems as though she may have never learned to properly communicate with her fellow animals, which might explain her sometimes rather exaggerated playfulness. With people, however, she gets along very well and loves to be the center of attention. Playing, frolicking, being stroked, and treats make our little sugar cube more than happy. Whether Stumpy, for example, could adapt to using diapers within a house, we cannot say. Since we cannot keep our cats under constant supervision, it would be too dangerous to try that in the animal shelter. However, Stumpy does use the litter box, albeit often at the wrong moment, which means that "nothing comes of it." We know that it is a mammoth task to find a wonderful home for this young cat, as it seems that few people are interested in an incontinent cat. But, just like Coco, we could imagine Stumpy living on a nice horse farm or similar place where she can enjoy plenty of human contact and spend her nights in a dry stable or the "feed kitchen." About Abgabekatze Stumpy

What life with Abgabekatze Stumpy looks like

Abgabekatze Stumpy is a small young adult mixed breed animal waiting at Tierheim Lauterbach in Germany.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Abgabekatze Stumpy far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Abgabekatze Stumpy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Abgabekatze Stumpy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lauterbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Abgabekatze Stumpy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Abgabekatze Stumpy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lauterbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Abgabekatze Stumpy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Abgabekatze Stumpy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lauterbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Abgabekatze Stumpy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
