Acari

Male · Young · 1 year

Acari is a neutered male rabbit, about 1 year old, currently living outdoors with Schnucki. This friendly and relaxed buck is open and approachable with people and gets along wonderfully with his partner. We are looking for a spacious, species-appropriate outdoor home for Acari and Schnucki together, with plenty of room, enrichment, and places to retreat. The two complement each other’s personalities perfectly and will therefore only be rehomed together.

DE·Show original

About Acari

What life with Acari looks like

Acari is a large young adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Linz in Linz.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Frequently asked

Adopting Acari, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Acari?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Linz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Acari on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Acari if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Linz what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Acari already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Linz directly what is included and what Acari still needs.
What happens if Acari isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Linz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Acari and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
