Adopt Ada

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 12 years

23 June 2025, Ada arrived at our animal shelter. An 11-year-old female dog of the German shepherd type, who not long ago had everything that mattered: a home of her own, a beloved caregiver, a warm corner, and a daily routine full of love. Unfortunately, life can be merciless. The health of the owner deteriorated to the point where she was no longer able to care for her beloved dogs. Ada and another female dog, Layla, ended up at the animal shelter. Layla has already found a new home... And Ada is still waiting. She waits every day - calmly, with dignity, as if still believing that someone will come back for her. She is gentle, does not impose herself, does not insistively seek attention. She has low demands. She is not looking for adventures or long walks. She is looking for peace, presence, and love. She would like to feel needed once again. To have her place by someone's bed. Her corner, her family. For the last years. Maybe months. But full of dignity and warmth. If there is room in your heart for an older dog - give Adzie a home. She will repay you with calmness, gratitude, and the most loyal look you can imagine. The female dog is spayed.

Szuka spokoju, obecności i miłości.

About Ada

What life with Ada looks like

Ada is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Konin in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ada, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ada?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Konin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ada on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ada if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Konin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ada already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ada isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Konin early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ada and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
