Aday (SWe)

Mixed Breed · Male

PS FE, born: 04/24, male dog. On the Finca since 05/2025. The cute Bardinos Aday and Aitana were found together in the northern part of the island. Most likely, the two dogs were abandoned, as neither Aday nor Aitana had a microchip and no one was looking for them. So the two came into the Pererra of La Oliva. Since there was an open spot at our shelter on the Finca Esquinzo, they were allowed to move in. In essence, Aday is a cheerful, playful puppy dog, but because he is a bit rambunctious, he sometimes gets in his own way. His boundless energy just pours out of him, and for him, life should ideally consist only of play and fun. If one reprimands the young pup, he shows great submissiveness and heads straight into the hut. He needs to learn obedience. He plays exuberantly with his buddy Angel, but even there, he can be too temperamental and doesn't know where the limit is. A dog training class would certainly be beneficial for his development. Aday loves snuggling and cuddling with humans, and he would most like to sit on their lap. The lovable male dog is also not a loud dog and only barks when the other dogs bark. For Aday, we are looking for people who can muster patience for the rambunctious boy and enjoy his upbringing. Aday would also be a good match for stable children and a dog buddy, but that is not a must. Bardinos belong to the herding dogs of the Canaries and are used there as herding, watch, and companion dogs. The corresponding protective instinct should be taken into consideration and not underestimated during adoption. Once one has the trust and love of a Barino, one gets a loyal friend for life. Therefore, we would like to see Barino enthusiasts as Aday's new owners who can consistently guide him. Additionally, his new home should ideally be in a rural area and preferably have an enclosed yard. Aday can now be microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested for Mediterranean diseases and travel to his new home immediately. Who would like a great buddy by their side? Contact us!

About Aday (SWe)

What life with Aday (SWe) looks like

Aday (SWe) is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Fuerteventura in Dransfeld.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aday (SWe), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aday (SWe)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Fuerteventura handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aday (SWe) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aday (SWe) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Fuerteventura will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aday (SWe) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aday (SWe) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Fuerteventura early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aday (SWe) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
