Adopt Lando

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Say hello to Lando, a sensitive soul with a playful side just waiting to shine. Lando is a lovely Lurcher looking for a patient and understanding home where he can take things at his own pace. He can be unsure in new situations and around unfamiliar people, so his new family will need to give him time to build trust and confidence. Once settled, Lando's playful and goofy personality really starts to shine. He enjoys spending time with his doggy friends and gains confidence from having another dog around, so he would benefit from living with a playful, well-matched canine companion. Lando enjoys quiet, sniffy walks and exploring at a gentle pace, as well as relaxing and enjoying enrichment. He is also a real foodie and loves tasty treats! Due to his sensitive nature, Lando is looking for a quieter home with children aged 14+ and adopters with some experience. He will need time to settle, with alone time built up gradually and plenty of patience and encouragement. Lando does have some ongoing medical needs, including chronic skin disease and a heart murmur, so his new family will need to be prepared to support his health needs, we would be happy to discuss this in more detail. With the right person, we think Lando will blossom into a happy, social and wonderfully goofy boy. He just needs someone willing to give him the time and TLC he deserves. About Adopt Lando

What life with Adopt Lando looks like

Adopt Lando is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Lando, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Lando?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Lando on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Lando if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Lando already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Lando isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Lando and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
