European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

Some kittens grow up with people around them. Some kittens learn later that people don't have to be scary. Some of our kittens are still very nervous about human contact and haven't been used to touch and closeness enough during their most important socialization period. That's why we're looking for a special kind of place for them: a place where nothing is expected of them. During an introduction at the shelter, they won't come running to you excitedly. They won't let you pet them, seek contact, or snuggle up on your lap. They'd rather watch you safely from a distance. We can't predict how this will develop in the future. Maybe with a lot of time and patience, they'll gain more confidence and eventually seek contact cautiously. But it's also possible that they'll always find people exciting and remain independent cats who don't need much contact. That's why we're looking for people who won't adopt them with the expectation that they'll eventually become cuddly cats, but who will really be okay if that never happens. People who give them the time and space to discover what they do and don't like at their own pace. This doesn't necessarily have to be in a domestic setting. For some of these kittens, a suitable outdoor location can also be an option, for example on a farm, at a stable, or in another safe place where they can roam freely as real mouse hunters. Of course, they're still cats that need to be cared for: they need good food, fresh water, shelter, and appropriate medical care every day. The small steps are very valuable for these kittens. Maybe they'll learn to trust you more and come closer eventually, but maybe they'll rather stay at a distance. Both is okay. For these kittens, we're looking for a safe place where they're accepted as they are — even if they always remain independent and find human contact exciting. ❤️ Do you have such a place and want to give one of these kittens a chance? Then we'd love to get to know you. Do you want to offer me a home? Fill in the intake form below, and we can quickly schedule a first meeting. Before you bring a cat home, we're curious if you know what's involved. Read through this LICG pet guide. Do you have any questions afterwards? We'd be happy to answer them.

Beide is oké.

About Adoptiepagina

What life with Adoptiepagina looks like

Adoptiepagina is a medium-sized puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at ROZE Eindhoven in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adoptiepagina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adoptiepagina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ROZE Eindhoven handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adoptiepagina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adoptiepagina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ROZE Eindhoven will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adoptiepagina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adoptiepagina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ROZE Eindhoven early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adoptiepagina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
