Dropje is a beautiful black cat, from her whiskers to the pads on her paws. Her coat shines beautifully and although she may seem a bit intimidating at first, her foster family says she's a very sweet and social girl. She loves playing with her siblings. Balls, a play tunnel, and feathers are her favorites. She also likes to snuggle up with the other kittens. They are really important to her, because she really looks up to them. If she hears another kitten purring, she gets curious and wants to be there too. She's still a bit nervous about new things. If she's scared, she can hiss and sometimes lash out in fear. That doesn't mean she doesn't want to be petted. On the contrary! Once she comes to you, she really enjoys attention and loves to give head butts. During playtime or when she's eating, it's easy to pet her calmly. Even when she's relaxed or with her back to you, you can pet her gently. My foster family has found that it works well to listen to her signals. If she hisses, it's better to leave her alone for a while. If there's no pressure on her, she often comes back to you for a pet. So, she needs time, patience, and trust. A busy household, loud noises, and a lot of new stimuli are probably too much for her. That's why I'm looking for a quiet home, preferably with older children who understand that I need my own pace. A very young family wouldn't be a good fit for me. A dog is also too much for me right now. A very gentle adult cat might be okay, but a social kitten I can relate to would be much nicer for me. I've only been with my foster family for two weeks and I'm already making good progress. Hoi, ik ben Dropje! 🐾 Ik ben een prachtig zwart poesje, van mijn snorharen tot de kussentjes onder mijn pootjes. Mijn vacht glanst mooi en hoewel ik misschien in eerste instantie een beetje spannend overkom, zit er volgens mijn gastgezin een heel lief en sociaal meisje in mij verstopt. Ik ben dol op spelen met mijn broers en zusjes. Balletjes, een speeltunnel en veertjes vind ik erg leuk. Ook speel en slaap ik graag gezellig bij de andere kittens in de buurt. Eigenlijk zijn zij heel belangrijk voor mij, want ik trek me echt aan hen op. Hoor ik een ander kitten spinnen? Dan kom ik nieuwsgierig kijken en wil ik er ook graag bij zijn. Nieuwe dingen vind ik nog best spannend. Als ik bang ben, kan ik flink blazen en soms uit angst uithalen. Dat betekent niet dat ik niet geaaid wil worden. Integendeel! Als ik eenmaal naar je toe kom, geniet ik juist enorm van aandacht en geef ik graag kopjes. Tijdens het spelen of eten lukt het bijvoorbeeld goed om mij rustig te aaien. Ook als ik ontspannen ben of met mijn rug naar je toe zit, kun je mij voorzichtig aaien. Mijn gastgezin merkt dat het goed werkt om naar mijn signalen te luisteren. Als ik blaas, is het beter om mij even met rust te laten. Als er geen druk op mij wordt gelegd, kom ik vaak juist sneller weer zelf voor een aai. Ik heb dus vooral tijd, geduld en vertrouwen nodig. Een druk huishouden, harde geluiden en veel nieuwe prikkels zijn voor mij waarschijnlijk te veel. Daarom zoek ik een rustig thuis, bij voorkeur met wat oudere kinderen die goed begrijpen dat ik mijn eigen tempo nodig heb. Een heel jong gezin past minder goed bij mij. Ook een hond lijkt mij op dit moment te spannend. Een heel zachtaardige volwassen kat zou misschien kunnen, maar een sociaal kitten waar ik mij aan kan optrekken zou voor mij waarschijnlijk veel fijner zijn. Ik ben pas twee weken bij mijn gastgezin en maak al mooie stappen.
