Diesel is a 2-year-old small brown Cypriot cat. My name may sound tough... and to be honest, there is some truth to that. Don't be fooled by my cute face and soft meow. I am actually a feisty lady! When I arrived at the shelter, I had already been spayed. That means I probably lived somewhere before. Unfortunately, we don't know what exactly happened to me. We suspect that I may have experienced something nasty, which is why I can sometimes be unpredictable. I can lash out and even give a bite if something doesn't please me. That's why I'm not looking for a busy household where people expect a lot from me. I'd rather be a bit on my own. I remain calm with our volunteers as long as they don't startle me and don't try to pet me. I don't mind it at all. I'd rather you just be around me and let me be. But there is one thing I do love to do... I'm crazy about it! As soon as I notice that food is being prepared for me, my attitude changes immediately. Then I suddenly give very affectionate head butts and rub against your legs. Look, that's how we can understand each other! That's why we are looking for a very special place for me. A place where I can be a bit more on my own, for example outside at a farm or in another quiet place where I can lead my own life. A place where my new people understand that I don't have to be a cuddly cat and where they give me the time and space to be myself. Maybe I've had some sad things happen in my young life. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what exactly happened. But I hope my story doesn't end here. I deserve to get a second chance in a place that really suits me. Hoi, ik ben Diesel, een klein bruin cyperse poesje van 2 jaar oud. Mijn naam klinkt misschien stoer… en eerlijk gezegd zit daar wel een kern van waarheid in. Want laat je niet voor de gek houden door mijn lieve snoetje en mijn zachte miauwtje. Ik ben namelijk best een pittige dame! Toen ik in het asiel kwam, was ik al gesteriliseerd. Dat betekent dat ik waarschijnlijk al ergens gewoond heb. Wat er precies met mij is gebeurd, weten we helaas niet. We vermoeden dat ik misschien iets naars heb meegemaakt, waardoor ik nu soms wat onvoorspelbaar kan reageren. Ik kan flink uithalen en ook een hapje geven als iets mij niet bevalt. Daarom ben ik niet op zoek naar een druk huishouden waar mensen veel van mij verwachten. Eigenlijk ben ik veel liever een beetje op mezelf. Inmiddels blijf ik bij onze vrijwilligers gelukkig rustig, zolang ze mij niet laten schrikken en niet proberen om mij aan te halen. Dat hoeft van mij namelijk helemaal niet. Ik vind het prima als je gewoon gezellig in mijn buurt bent en mij lekker mijn eigen gang laat gaan. Maar er is één ding waarvoor ik wél graag mijn best doe… Daar ben ik namelijk dol op! Zodra ik merk dat er eten voor mij wordt klaargemaakt, verandert mijn houding meteen. Dan geef ik ineens heel lief kopjes en schuur ik gezellig langs je benen. Kijk, zo kunnen we elkaar dus wél heel goed begrijpen! Voor mij zijn we daarom op zoek naar een heel speciaal plekje. Een plek waar ik wat meer op mezelf mag zijn, bijvoorbeeld buiten bij een boerderij of op een andere rustige plek waar ik mijn eigen leven kan leiden. Een plek waar mijn nieuwe mensen begrijpen dat ik geen knuffelpoes hoef te zijn en waar ze mij vooral de tijd en ruimte geven om mezelf te zijn. Misschien heb ik in mijn jonge leven al wat verdrietige dingen meegemaakt. Ik kan je helaas niet vertellen wat er precies is gebeurd. Maar ik hoop wel dat mijn verhaal hier niet eindigt. Ik verdien het om nog een keer een nieuwe kans te krijgen, op een plek die echt bij mij past. Ben jij iemand die niet meteen verwacht dat ik op schoot kom liggen, maar die mij gewoon accepteert zoals ik ben?
